We all know the Zed is a potent beast - but how many have kept your foot in all the way until it runs out of puff in 5th?

Please do not tell me where or when you tried this - I shall assume it was on a private road / airfield / race track - or in Germany. Irrespective of where or when - what's the fastest you have been in your Zed AND what's the fastest you've been in any car??

The fastest I've been in my Zed is 145 (ish).

The fastest I've ever been was flat-out, at an indicated 165mph, in my mates R33 GTS.

Had a little thwrap with an 06 BMW M3 last Sunday, and i can usually beat 'em, but he just crept past me at a very slow pace over 3/4 mile (2 car lengths at the most)..... got up to 180mph (on a private track, obviously)...... turns out he was running a 500BHP supercharger kit!!!!!

In terms of gearing and equal power at the rear wheels, yes.

TT Manual at 7200rpm = 190mph

TT Auto at 7200rpm = 206 mph

Gearing per 1000rpm in top gear:

TT Manual - 26.4 mph

TT Auto - 28.6 mph

NA Manual - 23.9 mph

NA Auto - 25.9 mph

Based on Stock wheel/tyre sizes.

Thats interesting...

Any easy way to check which diff I've got?

If anything, my speedo is reads slightly under 25mph per 1000 in fifth. I think 4000 rpm equates to just shy of 100mph (about 96, i think). My car has 17 inch wheels fitted (235/45/17), so I would have thought these were very close to the standard wheel circumference? Could this suggest my car has an N/A diff, or is it more likely to be a calibration error?

Cheers

Looks about right to me - my car sits at 3500rpm at 100mph; and that's by the speedo. Sat nav and speedo are pretty damn close at 100......:winkiss:

Good info there Yowser; thanks!
