Ok well I just went out for a drive in the car for the first time in 7 months since I had all the work done to her and im getting vibration when I exceed 40mph from the middle of the car.

I'm sure it has something to do with the prop because I had a brand new centre bearing fitted and before the work was done it only knocked a bit when pulling off and never vibrated when moving.

Could it be a prop balancing issue? I can only feel vibration coming from the centre of the car near the armrest and not from the steering wheel although when you creep up in speed the whole car vibrates obviously.

yep, thats propshaft related.

Sounds like either the two halves of the propshaft were not realigned the same way, so its now out of balance. When seperated they need to be marked (tipex for example) and joined up the same way again.

You can fix/check by reseperating the propshaft , turning one end 180degree's and refitting.

or it was fitted with the bearing carrier bolt spacers missing or in the wrong place, so its out of align.

Ok he has told me that he marked it up and re fitted the same way but it may still need balancing. Would this be accurate?

Did'nt think roy the boy would make a school boy error like that, he's been doing it to long, it'll be because of the new bearing that your noticing the vibration now and the prop being out of balance probablly caused the original bearing to fail.
