Its up for sale with "Cylinder Head Damage" - dunno if they mean just gaskets gone, or belt broke etc.

Its currently in Germany not too far from me, just wanted to know if anyone here knows anything about it before I answer the advert.

Cheers.

dunno the car but im sure it would be fairly easy to work out what the internal situation is by compression leakdown etc. have a detailed chat with the vendor and sift the bull from the truth, and you will soon work it out. if your not confient with it tho maybe its not the best choice for you theres plently to choose from

Cheers for the reply, but I saw too late to edit that I had worded my question wrong.

I was thinking of picking it up to see me through the summer while the slickie is off the road for rebuild and paint.

I'm not worried about the engine (I run a maintenance facility for Lockheed Martin), I will either fix it, or get one out a breaker.

What I meant to ask was more about the general history of the car, is it maybe stolen etc, maybe it belonged to a prior owner on the site?

A UK reg car in this area is rare enough to wonder why a German guy is selling it.

Of course, if I go to see it, I will be giving it a good going over, but just wanted to arm myself with any info on it if poss, before I tackled a chat with the bloke selling it.

That is rare, a possible answer is either its been sold by a BFG soldier or maybe from the US community.

As i'm sure you know they are ridiculously expensive in Germany, its not unheard of that they (Dutch especially) import them in.

If it was me I'd have a look at it.

Yeah thought about the BFG, or even a Yank who has PCS'd in from Lakenheath or something.

The pictures show it as UK plates and tax etc, on a trailer being pulled by another UK motor.

Going to give the bloke a call tomorrow methinks.

Cheers for all the input.
