Hi, I know Halfords is a bit expensive and dont stock much if anything for our cars (could'nt even get a headlight bulb or oil filter) but i needed to do a bit of bodywork touching up and they mixed some paint up for me (Colbalt green pearl metalic) and it was absolutly spot on, came out much better than expected, well pleased.

I used Halfords to mix me up a touch-up pot of TK3 Marine Blue for my ZX and the colour was spot on too!!

I think they have improved a bit recently - and they often have good 3 for 2 deals on car cleaning products; which can save a fair few pounds.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Went into Halfords today for the first time in ages and supprised how CHEAP there products have become. Usually bought thing's like autoglym and meguires cleaning shampoo and polishing stuff of ebay thinking I was getting it cheap but Halfords Cheaper again by a few quid!!

Last time I went to get paint mixed up at halfords, I went there for Bayside blue, which is a heavily metallic paint with a lot of dark to light colour change.

The Halfords system even desribed it as "Metallic Pearl Blue", but what they they gave was a non-metallic Navy Blue...and then tried to argue about it being correct.

Halfords colour match is really good as they use a universal computer system. the air compressed cans also work a lot better than the gas compressed cans. :)

All Paint suppliers use computerised systems as far as Im aware. But its up to the guy working there to then manually mix up the correct parts to the correct weights according to what the computer tells him.

Its very much a manual process, dependent on the guy serving you. Which is luck of the draw in a place like Halfords.

i bought a super dupper tyre inflater, one of the halfords ones at 50% off, inflates a tyre from flat to 28psi in less than 3 minutes, great bit of kit. im no3w trying tyres to inflate that i dont even own.

gets my thumbs up.

Hmmm ... is your car UK or Jap ?

I got the genuine nissan aerosols, and it was way out (light), half tempted to try halfords and get them to add a bit more black to darken it up ...

But I think i'll pay a pro to do the job :surrender:
