my zed hops at the rear during heavy acceleration , its actualy quite scary as it feels like the rear wheels have left the ground or are skimming the surface ,

now I have dun a search on this and it seems to point towards the rear shocks ? is there anything else it cud be ?

also my car is uk spec, do I simply need to put the handbrake up a click , iv only just read about the adjustable suspension tonight !

if the shocks do need replacing , wer is the cheapest place to get them and can I I just fit jap ones and do away with the uk ones ?

I also have plans of fitting lowering springs , might aswell get them on when shocks are off , wer is the cheapest place for those and how much can I drop the car ?

before anyone says fit coilovers I havnt got a spare 600 rips at the moment :)

Ive got some standard uk suspension going cheap if you need it mate..

what have you got mate , pm me a price and if u can post ! I will buy something off u one day ha ha

Also jack the rear of the car up & give the wheels a good shake side to side - check for any play in the HICAS arms & joints in the hub, this will cause the car to skip around at the rear.

Worn rear tyres on the edges are an indication that the rear tracking is out - another possibility

Once you know the suspension is in good order then think about replacing the shocks!

Wheel hop under hard acceleration from standstill (is differnet to skipping/sliding/swerving), and feels like a severe Judder is typically caused by either worn Shock absorbers or Worn Rear subframe bushes.

Skipping, sliding, swerving and a general unsettled feel at the rear is often causes by either worn hicas bushes (inner or outer) or rear shockabsorbers.

Alignment issues or play in all suspensoin components should be checked though.

The Shock themselvers are very cheap, about 30-40 a side, but if they are worn then you should also consider replacing the fronts and check every suspension component.

Unfortunatly your not alone in this, most Z's out there are running around on tired old suspension and owners either just dont realise or they ignore it.

you can get the solid subframe bushers for about £30 for all four and you can have them fitted in a couple of min :)

I get this exact same symtoms and my rear shocks are comlpetely shot, its literally just a spring, already spoke to Jeff, so now its just a matter of a week or so!

Also with this juddering, does this reduce the ammount of power your able to put down?

so are u saying its the spring on yours or the damper part ? and sure it effects how much power u put down , I have to let off when it happens as its quite scary !

small update on mine is that I jacked it up and checked for play , only thing I noticed that very slightly on the drivers side the wheel has a very slight bit of play in the way that the rear steering wud move ! solid on other side and no movement any other way 7
