Nearly finished soundproofing half the car, doesnt look pretty, but should do its job. I started off with larger pieces, but ended up being a nightmare in places to mould to the panels properly, so ended up cutting smaller squares and strips.

I've done just the doors in mine and that made a noticeable difference, I imagine doing the whole interior would be great!

  • 1 month later...

Just wondered how you got on with the finished job? Was it worth it as I'm thinking of doing mine soon.

Still got the cabin area to do mate, been concentrating on the spare engine to get in next month, but the rear is quieter already even without the rear boot panels in yet.

Would you mind updating this post when you get time to finish? Think I'm gonna do mine anyway, contemplating doing my 4x4 at the same time...............

Just about to start mine and wondered if you ever finished and took any pics?

Hi Mate, i did everything except under the seats so far, will take some more pics when i take the roof lining out for some spraying, but has made a difference, especially the doors. Nice thud when i close the door now instead of a hollow rattle lol.

Well I'll be starting Monday, looks like a long job....................

Hello bud,

Hope not cos I've been treating surface rust for the last few days :( I coated the inside with underseal and once that's dried off, will lay the soundproofing over that :) How have you found the job?

Vijay

i used undercarpet felt, and sound deadening material on mine. Hugely recommend it, makes the car so much nicer inside, sound wise. didnt think it would work to be honest but now im glad i did it, took about 5 hours all in all, including removing all parts, interior, cutting gluing, and refitting the whole interior.

Hi Coolq

What is the stuff you used and whats the average cost for this

Cheers
