TT clutch in a NA how is it possible?

My clutch has started to slip ever so slighty under high torque so im looking into options. I have a twin plate exedy clutch and flywheel for a TT sitting around doing nothing and would be good to use this rather than buy a NA one. To fit a TT clutch on a NA engine and box what will need to be done? I presume the flywheel bolts will be the same and i have heard that the bell housing needs to be modified slighty.

Anyone have any pics or details on this as i understand the internals on the gearbox are the same just a different bell housing. Of course at the same time im going to do the usual maint to the box and fit one piece prop while its all off :)

Cheers folks

Marty

A tt flywheel is larger in diameter,so to fit it youll need to grind the inside of the bellhousing away until it fits, youll also have to shim the starter to move it out.

ok then with a TT box neither of this would need to be done then however would a NA prop fit to a TT box?

ah i see so i could maybe get a one piece TT prop TT box and then my flywheel and clutch would fit fine :)

No only the front half of the prop is the same length, but you could get Jeff to make you a one piece TT box to N/A dif, sorted.

ah so what you are saying is it is the diff that causes the difference in prop size and not the box? have to figure out what is the best option then as the box i have now is good with no bad noises so i trust it

cos if im gonna have the prop off i want a one piece put back on. Its a mod i will eventually do so might as well do it at the same time.

so a one piece NA prop would work on the NA diff and the TT box or does length become as issue then?

Yep! (i think the length is ok! you need to check that!)

Not being funny but that's one hell of a long way round avoiding buying an N/A clutch and flywheel!

er thinking cap one f the memebers here has done this axlaw maybe? he srecwently done a thing about increase the lock for drifting. he has an na gearbox and bellhousing with attt engine and had to remove material to do it.

Ah right, makes sense now.

Unless you have a TT gearbox lieng around, then just grind the NA bellhousing and shim the Startermotor. Its only a couple of mm.

There is a handy pic from Slick pete here that illustrates the area that needs grinding a little. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=134163&highlight=bellhousing

Ah top link thanks alot i think i will go that way then
