Quick help - front pads with spring thingys - which way?

Hey,

Currently putting new front pads in and noticed two of the pads have spring clip things on them, can anyone tell me if these go on the rear of the disc or the front.

They seem pretty pointless they do, guess theyre there for a reason.

Cheers!

They are wear indicators, usually fit mine to the rear of the caliper, ie: inner

Cheers! :) I suppose I can see them either way...so may as well put them on the rear, it will look better.

Got it, its a wear indicator. Going to put them on the front of the disc so I can see them.

Thats the correct way to fit them, so they can be checked through the wheel easier, they are designed to cause a squeal sound when the pad is worn, personally thats too low for me and prefer to be able to check before then.

Funny though a £38 k car had squealers on the pads instead of wear indicators, with all the other technology it seems mad !
