My car was a uk TT auto but the guy I bought it off changed it too a manual, is there a difference between the turbos from a auto to the maunal and does it make a difference?

IIRC auto turbos are slightly smaller and have slightly less lag. No idea if you'd notice it though

Do a quick search for "auto turbos", there's a few posts about your question ;)

I have to say, my first 300zx was an auto and i had it converted to a manual, I notice that my currently 300zx has been a manual all its life and I'm convinced that the first one used to spool up quicker at lower revs!

yup autos have differnt cams and turbos to spool up quicker and make up for the grannie box :D they do say that through the gears a converted auto will be quicker because of less lag. i seem to rember something on the subject of them handling less boost if planning to up the boost, hope that helps
