Did you bleed it properly? Sounds like you have some air in there. Might be a leak from the pipe extension. Did you get a MAN to look it over after you'd done it?

lol, no MAN has looked at it, just a boy, i will have a tighten of the jubliee clips 2morra if you think it may be a leak, theres nothing showing as a leak though? its off to see Jeff at the end of the month so maybee a proper man can have a gander then:cool3:

Yeah, best get a man to look it over!

I had a a similar problem when I replaced the brake lines; I couldn't get the air out of the system but there wasn't any sign of a leak. I tightened up all the connections again and the it bled fine. I think that one of the connectors was tight enough to stop fluid dripping but was letting air in when the pedal was released (if that makes sense?)

No!!lol, I didnt know there was a procedure, i just hope things work after messing with them

think the pump could be gravity fed from the pot and you've upset the feed by going to far away from pump...or i could be talking complete *****ckks and it needs bleeding:winkiss:

It involves jacking the car up and turning the steering from lock to lock in quick succession I cant remember the full procedure but Im sure someone else will explain it in full.

Someone..............

as you say Pete, but you also need to remove the ps pot's cap to let it burp.

Yep sounds like you have air in the system. Bleed it by turning to full lock, hold, turn to opposite lock, hold, keep doing till all ok. Leave cap of while you do it and Make sure the pot stays topped up

Have you been driving it around like that?

Its possible internal bearing/shaft damage could of been caused as it required the fluid for lubrication and cooling.....but if not then once bled all should be ok.
