who cares whats faster my bike will spank both, but car terms a zed is far more exotic compared to a boring bmw. Parked side by side a mint zed looks to be in a different league.

Im my eyes, the old e30 M3 was something a little special. The days of widening the car with big squared off wheel arches and exsaaggerated spoilers was what caught your eye and made you think.....mmmm POWER HOUSE....

Now days we demand more luxury and reliability and in my eyes the styling of cars has got very...safe.

As Damo j says: 'who cares whats faster' If it purley speed that you want, I would suggest a different platform to work with. I had a compliment off a lad the other day who couldn't believe that my car was 22 years old. (the old 300 is ageing but she wouldn't lokk out of place on a Nissan forecourt today.:cool3:

dont get rid of the zed!! its one of the best looking cars on the road- gets lots of attention as some people havent seen one before and dont have a clue what it is- they go like $hiT off a shovel and in the summer u can take the roof off and look the bees knees !!!

if you had top trumps cards with your beemer on one, and your zed on the other i think the zed would win on all points factors hands down !!!

Mate if your lucky enough to be in a position where you can keep both, then i guess its just a case of weekdays and weekends or rainy days and sunny days!

ie M3 for the former and the zed for the latter.

That's what I'd do as well......

Think Pixas is spot on, you need to have a passion to appreciate a Z. I haven't driven mine in years but I looked at mine last night and just thought wow! I just think they turn heads and that's what BMW's just dont have (just my opinion). Guess you have to weigh up insurance/tax/mot to justify keeping it too :(

....because I agree with that. I have a newer and faster German sports car for daily use; yet despite everything it has and does, I have a passion for the ZX that just hits me each time I drive it. The look, the smell and the sheer ungoverned fun that two turbos; RWD and no electronic gadgets to hinder progress can provide....

Its staying!

Both are....

....Good man - a wise choice my friend...

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I WISH I hadn't sold Zedward. Loved that car, as Marty does now. I had no choice, I couldn't afford to be a Zed owner and a student nurse, but my how I wish I didn't have to. And if I am honest it absolutely breaks my heart that Zedward isn't tucked up in my garage right now

We could have come to the bash at a push last week, with my daughter, but I knew I would have cried seeing Zedward. How f**king sad is that?!

Never had a car like it. Everything else is sh1t in comparison, although I try not to compare....

Glad Zedward's looking fine, its an awesome car. Will be even more so when its converted to a TT. Sigh.

m3 is faster all day long, i have a friend with a e46 m3 csl and its rapido, 4.8 to 60 from the factory, and remapped it can run up to 170mph+

no lag, instant acceleration, and revs very fast, traction controls, stability controls, etc etc, it leaves a Z from standstill, and put them both on a wet road.. well we both know the answer.

from what ive read 400hp needs bigger turbos. and when people with stock tubs state 400hp most people laugh them off in denial.

plus as you say it feels and looks much better, having the choice of the 2 i'd be an E46 man all day, comfort, no noise, power, class, stability, reliability. fuel economy, and can take your mates/ family anywhere :-)

god i LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE the e46 M3's, sorry fellow Z fans. dont kill me.

I must admit, I wonder why some folks on here own a Zed:hammer:

Yup - like a lot of us I'd imagine......

And Jane, once you've finished your course I've no doubt you'll have another ZX.....

......or sooner; judging by how you seem to get through cars!!!

And I'm sure there's a nice TT out there with your name on it....

This is what will keep me going through uni, and the late nights of studying and night shifts and cleaing up poo and puke in a and e lol, the thought of a lovely ZX SWB TT.....

Drove my car back from the paint shop today it felt special in as much that it's 20yrs old and getting increasingly rare proud of its condition and with a few tweaks can still hold it's own with some expensive cars.

Im keeping it..

I think i need to drive it.

Haven't been able to yet. Just toom the M3 out. Mmmmmmm

I've been getting very down on my Z lately, needs a LOT of attention it seems, new sills, new tailgate, doesn't have an aftermarket ECU, plugs just got super fouled up because of the overfueling and starter motor dying last week etc etc. But when I got it back tonight I went out for a drive in her, and I'm back in love again, I don't care that she costs more than the kids!
