Remote Central Locking

I'm thinking of installing remote central locking and just wondering where is best to tie into; to trigger doors open and doors close?

The solenoid on the drivers side door controls both locks, so thats the bit you want mate

Yep, these things tend to come with a universal actuator, which you connect to one of the rods in the drivers door that runs to the locking mechanism. Its the same setup for aftermarket alarms with remote locking too.

Thanks for the replies.

I'm actually looking to tie in electrically somewhere, as in the central locking control unit, is that also located in the door?

I noticed on the US forum they have an OEM security unit thats in where the ECU is, on guy was able to tie into that OEM plug to control the lock unlock and some other bits. I'm pretty sure we never got this, but I'm wondering would the plug be there?

I think you would need to get an after market alarm fitted to do what you want. As I said though the solenoid in the drivers door controls the central locking, it won't unlock the boot though.
