You can change the springs on there own but would prob reccommend you change the shocks as well as on cars of this age there probably well worn! Last thing you want is to go over a bump and the thing bottoms out on you! Even if you went for a standard pair of shock's there going to be better than what's on there and fairly cheap to buy too!

Dropping it that much will exceed the oem camber adjustment, so you will need to get adjustable camber arms all round if you don't want to ruin your tyres

lee, i would suggest saving up a few more pennies and get yourself a decent set of coilovers - check these out:

I know that they are more expensive than springs on their own, but a decent set of springs is going to set you back a couple of hundred at least, (see cheap ones on ebay below):

So why not save/spend a bit more and have a fully customisable setup?

I have seen them on a few zeds now and i have to say they look stunning, the cars sit nice and low, and they are fully adjustable, height and stiffness. Read the post till the end and you will see that all who have bought them are very happy.

They are on my wish list mate, along with some nice 18s.

just my 2 pennies worth of course, but i was in the same boat as you, i wanted her lower and was looking to just change the springs, but i am now looking to save a bit longer and do it properly.

i wanted to go a bit lower mate really but i am going to wait to see what comes up on the site. Also i hav just started to bid on a rear and front bumper late last night so if i win the shocks r going to have ta wait. I wish i had shed loads of money cus i know were i would spend it.

As a potentially useful thing to know, how much lower can you go without changing camber arms ?

Around the 20mm mark mate.

if you drop to much with your old shocks you will get bottoming out problems or maybe hitting your arches due to worn shocks. you really need to upgrade your shocks along with the springs to avoid any issues . a very popular combination is eibach springs and agx shocks . not cheap but a massive difference in ride and handling . i was lucky enough to pick up the above combination from jefftt and am very pleased with the results . the stance of the car now looks spot on

Just another tip. If you change the front bumper, you might find it sits lower on the car!

I fitted Tein mono flex coil overs with EDFC, then fitted a full body kit with a strosec front bumper. The bumper sits lower on the car, which means the bumper is close to the ground and could bottom out. mine was about 50-70 mm off the road snd could still go lower.

to do a complete job need to fit new upper camber brackets front & rear and new front toe arms.

i have to raise the car to get it on the ramp for a MOT.

This is what i have learnt

Regards

Kev
