As most of us know the original Nissan rear spoiler suffers from water ingress and subsequently the paint surface becomes damaged and the spoiler shape changes to a wobbly top and later breaks away at the low part were it meets the tailgate above the lights.

Quite why it does this is to many a mystery so we have cut off the end of a damaged spoiler to show why the spoiler is badly effected by water ingress, basically the spoiler was formed around a metal skeleton that over a period of time rusts away, slowly collapsing and distorting, this is why there is no point in repainting a spoiler that has started to deteriorate as the nastiness inside is still there and will just come back very quickly, the only upshot is if caught reasonable quickly the tailgate should be ok.

Took mine off at the weekend, just the same. careful with a rubber mallet and an old chisel and no damage to the boot surface.See what the problem is with the hidden white plastic clips.
