I'm in two minds whether to spend money repairing my Zed or just sell it and buy one in better condition.

As it stands, my car need a repair tto he rear quarter (big big rust patch), rust patch under fuel filler, petrol tank straps, tension rod bushes, front and rear bumpers need replacing, plenum bypass due to water leak. in addition to the repairs i want 99spec front bumper and other bodykit bits, interior refurb, respray in different colour, new wheels.

So really i'm looking at spendin about 4-5K fixing my Zed up, or 4-5k to buy a better one.

What would you do???

I've found one i like on pistonheads for 5k. Looks very nice!

I've very particular though, if i bought a new one, it would HAVE to be manual twin turbo 2+2. Preferably UK spec due to insurance (sounds silly, but being only 22 it makes a big difference)

the car would be a good choice, absolutely gorgeous, love the stealth look on it .

sad but true if you are going to spend that much on the body it would be better to buy a rust free zed and they are out there for that money

I agree with the above Rob.

There comes a point where you have to say "enough" and put your money into a better car.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

nice car that but youd want a manual if your spending big money right? and as good as it is on paper or first glance your still buying an unknown. im only 2 years older than you and my insurance company said there would be no difference in price between it being import or uk spec. interestingly mine is a import.

There are plenty of insurers who do not charge such a premium for imports, regardless of your age - just shop around mate!

That'd be my choice as well - £1500 less and a newer car to boot!

I saw this one when i realised my first choice was auto. Definitely tempted! i think i'm probably going to go down the route of replace rather then rebuild, just seems like the better option for me

Ay up rob long time, no see. I have just been thinking if u have got 5 grand to spend, if u put it into the car u have, so if u have all the body work dun etc at lease u know the works been dun and u know the car. Also its nice to put ur print on the car. Well thats what i think mate but its up to u. If its to far gone then look for a new one mate. Is ur engine and box good? It was the last time we wer out init

Appart from the tension rod bushes and water leak under the plenum its mechanically sound. Just spent £600 getting it through the MOT!

I think all the repairs it needs should come to less than 3k, maybe less than 2k, but i want a respray too. Then just tarting it up really.
