Lovely Zed that, really hope there will still be some like this around when I've qualified

I can see you in a zed like that Janus:yes:

I don't know why I torture myself by staying on this forum, it still wounds me to not have one lol! One day, one day.........

Lovely car, really hope the next 3+yrs are kind to all the remaining Zeds as I have decided that it is what I want, a SWB TT, when I get my first job as a nurse :w00t:

Maybe off to view it this weekend, i will report back !!

Tony

the add dosent mention that it no longer has hi-cas?? but still a very nice example there.

Probably because its still got the Hicas system on it then!!

looks a bit cheap for me...

either they want a quick sale or they have undervalued it.

at that price its a bonefied bargain!

nice find gaz

From engine bay pic you can see the Hi cas is removed Pete

Do electronic Hicas versions have the solenoid in the engine bay? :-)

Its L-reg which means electronic hicas, no hydraulic solenoid in engine bay ;)

Edited by Yowser

I dont Know mate but the electronic version was introduced in 94 and this is a 93 model. But who knows for shure maybe a late 93 was electronic.

Electronic hicas is 93 (series 4) onwards

You could be right but mine is 93 and hydraulic and I got my info from here

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_300ZX

But wikipedia have been known to be wrong to.

Depending on production date, think theres 93 models as series 3 and some latter ones at series 4.

Virtually all that i have read states that 94 onwards is electronic but i think in reality it started mid-late 93 in UK/Jpan anyways.

I think you could well be right looking at the pic again:surrender:I bow to your superior Knowledge guys.

If it's as good as it looks and sounds in the ad then I agree, that is a cheap car. Someone's going to get a very nice Zed.

Looks to be a very nice example.

It must be a late 93, I didn't think that spoiler came out until '94. Also my '93 L reg is a series II and had hydrolic HICAS. So how come your all thinking it's a S3 or 4?

That looks a great car for the money Gary; really nice find I reckon......!!

Not sure whether that spoiler identifies the age - after all it's a J-spec car with a UK spec rear bumper; so the rear end has been fettled with a bit!

Also I'm confused regarding the HICAS issue - my UK spec L-reg ZX is a mid-1994 car and I think I still have the hydraulic HICAS as well......

.....how do you tell the difference?

Richard:oops:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Electronic hicas was introduced for the 94 year model, ie series 4. But the car was produced from Oct 93 according to Brian Long's authoritative book on the subject.

So on that basis its got hicas!!!:tt2: Just not the old school one:D:D

That bloomin big solenoid that is usually sat next to the power sterring pot and a wire coming out of the power sterring pot lid.

Or in the case of teh Zed in the pics, ermm not lol

Electric Hicas on late 93 onwards used actuators.

cheers

Cheers buddy - I'll have to take a look then!

TBH I didn't notice much difference under the bonnet between my first 1990 ZX and the latest one. I guess I could easily have overlooked the HICAS though - with so much else crammed in the engine bay!

It may well be registered in mid 94 here in the UK but Im sure you will find its factory build date will be 93.

Spec changes are defined by build date not registration date and for some cars this can be well separated.
