I haven't used my ZX for about 5 weeks now; although I did start it last Saturday so I could move it forward a metre in the garage in order to fit a new rear wiper blade.....

......so I decided to take it out this morning only to find the battery was flat. Not totally dead; but not enough juice to turn it over:no:

I couldn't get the Merc close enough to jump start it either - long bonnets and short jump leads;:tongue_smilie: And Julia was at work so no Rav....

.....I'll have to give it a go in the morning and take it for a nice long drive to blow the cobwebs from the engine.....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Hope so Chris - all the lights came on OK and it almost turned over but not quite enough to start. I'll tell all in the morning; but I'm sure it will be fine:balloon:

Do you leave your battery disconnected if the car is off the road? I guess they last a bit longer on the shelves of motor factors than they would wired in to the car........

Yay! All back to normal now.....:smartass:

.....jump started it from Julia's car this morning; then took the ZX for a nice little 150 mile round trip and all is well once more!!

It was good to drive the ZX again - 5 weeks had almost made me forget how good these cars are....

Excellent Rich and was hoping a little juice and a good run would sort it for you!

Cheers Chris - the car was running really well to mate! I just love driving the Z when it's on top form; luckily it normally is - I just have to get in and drive it more often:oops:

Had a nice blast through the Cotswolds, a hearty lunch and, as a bonus, the sun even came out a bit this afternoon!!

I Like that idea, thanks for the link!

Me too - that's a great idea!! Hopefully I could hang the panel outside the garage with enough flex to reach into the car......

Thanks for the link mate!
