..i have last night recieved some update pics from Jeff ....the car is sprayed in its new coat of lexus mattador red mica metalic the wide arch kit is fitted and looking so so sweet .....its so close now i can hardly wait ....with all the heartache and issues caused by one ex member ( not the car - never the car ) and the wasted two years when it just sat being neglected in his garage ...i am at last getting close to being able to drive it again ......

things left to do as far as i am aware are ..fit the new big brakes, fit the rebuilt forged motor, remove the hicas , remove the Air con, do the plenum water bypass , remove all unnecessary bits , carbon can , etc etc fit the stillen sway bars , front rear strut braces, find a new exhaust from somewhere , 3" system ....fit the new wheels and tyres , fit the leader gear set in the diff map the AEM ecu and carefully run it in ....im sure Jeff will post up the recent pics he took which apparently dont do the paint justice ..the body shop have more than the exra mile to make it fit perfectly ...and the quality of paintwork and depth of it looks amazing in the photos ....

i cant post them myself as photobucket is firewalled from my works account

:( just a big big thanks to all on here , Stella , Bantam, Quavey to name but a few and many many others who have kept my chin up when i have felt like throwing in the towel ....

cheers guys

Steve

hi Buddy

its gonna be awsome mate , it will fan the flames again to get yours done ...i have you email address somewhere ..i might drop you a few private sneek peeks

It all sounds awesome mate, can't wait to see pics. Will it be at Zedworld for the bash?

  • Author

should be .....i have pics of ithere but cant post them cos of our firewall at work i could email you them to post up for me if you want mate

Here you are matey, as you have said the lighting in the bodyshop hinders the camera, in the sun the pearl mica will be stunning.

The attention to detail has really impressed me, the blend from steel body to body kit and back to steel body is seamless, the inner wheel arch build is unique in a far as it has full arch returns sealing the kit and rear quarters completely.

This is of course pre-build pics, the spoiler, mirrors, bumpers etc. are all to be done as it mopping and polishing so there is much more to come yet!!!

hi mate, the leader gear set is not installed yet ..its on the list for Jeff and his team

i will contact leader gears and see what they recomend for fast street use , i was going to go for a Motul gear 300 75w90 synthetic ester based gear / diff oil suposed to be unshearble, i will probably drop a line to Oppie oils and see what he recomends and what he can supply

thanks for posting them up Jeff.....i cant tell you how anxious i am to get driving it ....the body shop have done a sterling job ...cant wait to see it all in the flesh when its all done and put together.....best thing i ever did was hand my Zed over to you

cheers

Steve

Thats very very tastey Mate, would love to see it in the flesh!

Hope you have some new wheels lined up though, those wide arches devour the stock alloys :D

  • Author

ive got some lined up ...im going for 18 with a 12" rear wheel i dont want to use spacers at all , i dont think it looks "right" from behind somehow when a 10" wheel is spaced out to fit .....only concern now is the tyre hitting the inner arch lip if it sits too low or squats under too much under acceleration.......

Steve, I had to have the inner arch lip cut back, as mine did catch and caused a small crack in the fibreglass.

Hi Barry long time no see .....i was thinking that looking at the pics that i might have to have it modded, shame as so much work has gone into blending the inner arch to the wing .....we will see , maybe it wont do it who knows ...
