Having owned my 300zx 8 years it feels kinda sad getting a new car, but due to the nature of these cars it's not practical given my circumstances.

Criteria for a replacement was 4 doors and reasonably quick so I bought this.

A Le Mans blue facelift M5 with nav and black/blue interior.

Still undecided whether to sell the zed or stash it away for a few years the money its worth doesnt make it worthwhile selling it given what i've spent on it.

Confession over.

nice looking beemer, i must confess, i also own a bmw, i'd never think of getting rid of the zed though.

Good buy, my daily driver is a E39 5series too. If I could only have the 1 car - a combined daily driver and performance toy - I would be very happy replacing my regular 5series and the Z with an M5.

The E39 range was widely regarded as the best car in the world during its production run, easily better than pretty much all newer cars, and the M5 is the cream of the crop.

look's a nice Bm you have there congrat's :) .... and hope you still frequent the forum

nothing wrong with beemers 1 day im gonna get meself an 8 series always fanced 1.

:ban:

Only joking mate, looks a nice beemer you got yourself there. If you can afford it though, i'd keep the zed. You'll probably regret selling it.

agreed , for what its worth on the market ...not what its worth to you ..its not worth selling ...keep it and enjoy when you feel the need for speed

i absolutely love those mate, gorgous color aswell

if you get stuck with anything try http://www.m3cutters.co.uk i know they are M3 specific but there are some good traders on there who know their m5's, there is also a company called CA AUTO and evolve who tune these things

Lovely Car Mate :thumbup1::thumbup1:

There seem to be a lot of beemers on here now:shifty:

Cheers for the approval :)

Selecting a car after you've had a zed is difficult, there is not al ot out there with the performance I wanted, and I didn't fancy anything like a and Imprezza or an Evo.

I'd always had a liking for the E39 M5 and this came up for sale and I bought it next day.

love the m5's ALOT, i know its two very different cars BUT, how does it compare to the zed in a straight line and in the corners also the brakes lol.

I have a soft spot for that shape M5 as well - so congrats on your new purchase mate!!

As for the ZX - keep it if you can. For the money you'll get for it, it's not worth selling if you don't have to. Pop it on a classic car policy and enjoy it over those sunny weekends - that's what I do now.....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Funny seeing this, my daily is a 5 series too! well at the moment its the zed as the bm has a coolant leak but anyway, with both of these there is nothing i can genuinely think of replacing them with (for the money!). I think its the perfect combination!

oh and keep the zed!

Maybe we should have a BMW section added to the forum given there seems to be quite a few of us. ;)

Well I've had it 3 days now and all I can say is wow, what a fantastic car, its surpassed all my expectations, its my first BMW and for a car that was developed back in 96 the build quality and design of equipment layout is superb.

So easy to drive around town and effortlessly smooth, it really does feel like brand new car. No rattles or squeaks from the interior, suspension is smooth and ride is sublime.

Oh and my god does it shift, bury the throttle and its like warp speed, I thought my zed was quick but the delivery on this is amazing, just keeps going and going and going.

well having done a bit of reading on the E39 M5 and ime mighty impressed:yes:..there a bloody rocket ship by the looks and 4 doors too, might go and find a dealer who has one and have test drive and see what develops so i take it back puplicly when i said "wash your mouth out"
