just a little something ive done today in the garage..

Carbon roof is now completed and i must say it looks awesome!! Had to strip the interior roof trim out so i could remove the ttop centre bar and other trim pieces so i could wrap the all the recess and gutter parts so it looks good when the roof is off. Its good stuff to apply but an art is envolved and patience is a must.

Its all in the prep work but very rewarding and ive not seen it done to a zed before so thought id be differnet.

Also did the ashtray and both door shuts/supports

what you all think?

yer all done by me self..

i was a little sceptical about the finish of the corners as ive seen some with kinks and wrinkles but my effort is litterally perfect everywhere. took about 5 hours start to finish.

looks like you've done a great job! what stuff did you use?

used 3m Carbon Wrap. I will do a write up if wanted? I found it relatively easy to be honest although i have picked up a certain amount of skills over the years as i used to build custom audio builds and trim them in alcantara and leather etc.

I have just removed my rear standard spoiler and im having it all smoothed next week. i bought the filler piece from Luke and was going to have it sprayed up sliver but now im going to carbon wrap it.

Write ups are always beneficial, i can stick it in the faq section for others to use as a guide.

And any pics of some of your custom audio builds will be nice to drool over lol

Cheers

Graham

Spooky...I started a similar thing this weekend. So far I have wrapped my rear spoiler and done the small black metal pieces up the windscreen and across the targa's. Having seen yours I think I will also do the bits of bodywork along the roof line too.

I have never done this sort of thing before and struggled a bit with the spoiler but it looks a lot better than it did! For anyone thinking about doing it, with a bit of patience you can get a really good look.

I got my Carbon Fibre vinyl from http://www.carbonmods.co.uk.

Top work sir!

I must say I'm very impressed with that mate - it looks superb!!

I don't like the "imitation" carbon look (too Max Power); but playing around with the real stuff can produce pretty awsome results - and that look like it was professionally done. Hats of to you mate!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

The trim in my beemer is covered in the same 3m carbon stuff. I was amazed at how well it can be moulded with heat and the finish is fantastic. Its even got a textured feel to it that adds to the realism.

it would be quite easy to get carrried away with it to be honest as its a real feel good factor when it goes right and applies really well.

ill do a write up no probs and also put up some pics of the installs i did.

ZX-TT nice one, i have tinited windows before and this stuff is alot easier to play with because if you mess up you can heat it up so it retains its shape and the creases dissapear. if you need any help or tips just let me know buddy.

thanks for all the positive comments guys, it even went that well i dragged the missus of the sofa to check it out..lol and it does look as good close up as it does in the pics.

That is good!-I have a couple of chips on the roof and was going satin black but now I have seen this!:chinese:-I see they do mettalic silver too, wonder if that would go ona silver car.........

All you need to do now is add something like this under your bonnet. I used the same stuff to wrap this slam panel that I made. Its quite easy to work with.

Ermmm, what else can I wrap??
