I was considering buying an LPG car back in 2000, but held off thinking the Government would tax it once everyone had jumped on the bandwagon. After it only having gone up from 36p per litre to 42p between 2000 and 2008, I decided to buy my current LPG car.

I filled up yesterday and the cheeky tw@ts had put another 10p per litre on the price. I can't believe it after so many rises before that.

The graph below shows the sudden rise. So much for being green eh? What a lying bunch of w@nkers we have controlling us. I'd rather buy a Prius and hack it to run in EV-mode rather than feed those slimy b**stards.

Had my land rover discovery just over a year now and LPG has gone from 62p a Litre to 75p a Litre. Just like everything else, I now seem to be working just to keep our heads above the water and I feel things are getting worse.

It was like diesel a number of years back, the government decided that diesel was much "GREENER" than petrol, so once a number of people went out and bought diesel cars, they then reversed the decision and said petrol was "GREENER". The same will happen with LPG, it's already happening, once a certain number have LPG conversions, the price will go up to what petrol and diesel prices are at now IMHO. :gun_bandana:

LPG will cost you more in the long run anyway, just makes engines go BANG!

Very true....lol :hammer:

:tt2:only when its not installed and tuned correctly...in 11 years ive never had one blow up on me and ive converted alot of vehicles

the goverment froze the tax on it for the first 4 years, not many people new that, and once the 4 years was up, then can put the price up as much as they want, as they are doing, this rise is only the tip of the iceberg... ****ers.

Dont know where you got that idea from?

I have been running my ski boat on LPG for 10years not a single problem.

As long as the head has hardened valve seats its no problem. All non leaded vehicals have hardened seats.

This is a misconception that has been kicking around from the days of leaded petrol.

why does anything go up so all the people that work for a living can get screwed even more in life to support all thoose who don`t wan`t to work ,we must be the only country that roll over and pay but have a rant but still pay and do sod all about it ,rant over for now !!

This sh**y Government will so be taxing the air we breath, It's not the public's fault they screw everything up but we're the only one's who ever pay for it!!!

Buying an already LPG equipped car is ok, but you'd have to be mad to convert one now.

Exactly!

For the cost involved it's just not worth it - stick to unleaded and continue to enjoy the performance.

Richard:oops:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Very true I sold my LPG Lexus GS last year it was getting uneconomical! This country is crazy. Dont buy all the hot air about the cuts, we have to have some but this lot have a plan that was forged on the back of a fag packet, good luck

Don`t forget the present "new"coalition goverment have not been in power for the past 14 years so blaming them for Labour`s mess is wrong, cannot say I agree with it all but more cuts and higher taxes are needed to get us back on track, just wish they would leave the motorist alone!

From anyone i've known have it on a car, after 40k miles pop goes the weasel!

Its only about four cars but whenever they have gone to a garage to get repairs/quotes they all get told the same thing.

"We love LPG, since it came out our work has shot right up!"
