my initial intention many years ago was to move up from being a special constable (volunteer copper) to a reguler police officer back then the eye sight limit differed more so between the specials and the regular force. i passed all the tests apart from the eyesight test :( and it will never be up to scratch (unaided) to join the regular's

as mentioned in the prev thread i did do some college (motor vehicle) and in all honesty either being able to be a regular copper (or) owning/working in a performance car garage would be top notch !

would love my own engineering workshop. with a car 4 poster. i would do custom one off stuff for cars etc, such as fuel rails bracketry, mounts, and so on. but probably would be a side line to the more mundane customer batch work.

just costs a lot of money to setup. so a pipe dream i guess!

If I had the time I'd like to do a commercial pilots licence... Ive fancied a career change for some time now; something more secure would be the main reason as I don't mind what I currently do for a living. I just can't think of anything else that I'd rather do otherwise i think I would have changed careers a while. I recently did a part p leccys course which is ok I guess but until I have my little sideline business up n running next year I'm doubtful of whether I'll go full time with it.

I see coppers wearing glasses, my uncle has worn glasses all through the ranks in his police carreer, is it an issue now then?

Very true mate lol but you need a certain sight score without glasses or contact's i simply dont meet this and doubt i ever will :( the driving sight limit for public i meet (un-aided) but only just so use glasses at night to drive etc

from what i know too yes the eye sight limit's have changed from when i got knocked back in 2001 the special consabulary's limit is closer to the regular's now so i could'nt even go back to doing it for free :/

Ello Bri, happy Yule, hope you and your lot are fine and dandy...

It depends how you go about it but yes it's generally v expensive, something you need to persue from the off to spread the cost. Though I start a new job soon which may give me an avenue in but my soul would be property of the devil lol!
