Hi guys, just bought myself my first zx, a 1990 N/A auto in gleaming black. Is it possible to chip these up? And if so whats the best one to go for?

cheers

Congratulations on your Z and welcome to the club, I'm sure some of the more technical guys will let you know the answer to your question, get some pictures up of your car for us to see.

Welcome to the forum mate :) get some pics up

in reply to your question yes you can get ecu chips but you may want to consider giving the cars internals a good checkover and sorcing other modifications first?

Jeff tt at Zworld is the the one to speak to for your service needs speak to him about a possible chip too, enjoy the site!

hello and welcome to the club. being a non turbo they are a bit expensive to gain power out of. i know as i have spent quite a bit for little gains,

best thing first is to make sure the engine is in tip top condition, before you contemplate chipping it.

get a decent exhaust and decat it

then an induction kit (apexi is recommended)

then go for the chip. andy p or john dixon can sort you out with a remap chip for your na, this will be a devin map.

hope that helps

that will be because your not a subscribed member , you could subscribe or upload your pics to a host like photobucket and them copy and paste the url from them into your reply.

thanks you my friend !!

Firstly, your Z looks great, did you purchase it from ebay? I'm sure I saw it for sale on the ebay website, the guy that was selling it said the number plates and CD player were coming off as they were a birthday present or something, see he left the number plates on. I have G197 YRJ, silver 1989 N/A.

welcome to the club mate, that is a members old car on here, it`s deloreans. nice car and lovely colour

you guys are right the plates and the stereo didnt come with the car - dont know why he wanted to keep the plates - bit useless for anything else - bought it a few weeks ago, so far its been pretty good - got an anti lock light on so hoping its just the relay. Have been snowed in for most of the time so havent had a chance to really play yet !!

I was lucky when I got mine in November, we were booked for the MPH show at the NEC, so we got to go in the Z, haven't used it much since though, going to the ZedWorld bash in February, fingers crossed the weather will be a lot better by then. :santa:

Thanks for the positive feedback guys - much appreciated. While I have this thread going, can someone point me in the direction of the anti-lock relay? the ecu tells me 9 flashes which I beleive is the motor and/or relay - but where is it?
