is there any way to use two mafs and seperate air filters?

iv got the hks air filter just now but im kinda woried about the clearance the filter is sitting about 2" ahead of the air ducts ..is there any way to get rid of the t piece and use two MAFS with two air filter?

yes by using a configuration like this or similar im going to be running doolz kit with extension pipes with 2 mafs for mine

i know iv only got n/a but after work comences again in the new year im looking to tune like f00k i know it not eco or anything but itll be a bit different

People run a dummy maf that isnt plugged in as you only need the one reading

would that not run one throttle wierd coz both would need the same air/fuel reading to run equaly

my thinking is if youve got two seperate air filers but only one side reading the airflow would the side with the dummy maf not make it run lean/rich

nope both filters will be taking in the same amount of air. The ecu wont inject different amounts of fuel of different banks of the engine it would be consistent as it would still believe it was running on standard airbox. Allthough with filter upgrade lke any mods it is best to get the ecu tuned to run correctly with the mods

ok i thought that the maf took an air flow reading then the ecu split it between both banks..never tred tuning a V engine before im used to 4 bangers

The throttle operates both throttle bodies equally with the throttle position sensor on one of the throttle bodies so all the information is there for the ecu

ah you just missed out on my apexi set up would of been spot on

i know i seen it earlier but im skint till after the new year and if got heater matrix to sort out would have been ideal though if i had cash the now

i thought about building a wee heat shielded cold air box that encloses the air filters coupled with two fog replacment ducts with pipes feeding the air into the C.A.B

Since the Selin dual maf translator has been on the market, most of the common dual pop/intake problems are a thing of the past...it requires 2 AFM's though.
