Ok the latest update with pics.... the workshop area is getting very slippy but still seemed ok, but when I left to come home the access road was blizzard like, the Motorways seem ok in places but what tonight and tomorrow will bring is anyone's guess.

So with a heavy heart I feel its best all round we cancel the event, it is so disappointing to get this close and the weather close in like it has, but we feel responsible for you guys and its really is not worth it for anyone to risk venturing out tomorrow to come to us.

However on the upside it now gives us a damn good excuse to re-schedule it for after Christmas and make an even bigger event of it!!!

So looking in the diary we are happy to announce the first Saturday in February as the new Zedworld Bash date....will be bigger and faster yeh!!!! well at least the January wages will have gone in the bank eh????

So sorry it is cancelled but lets look forward to Feb. 5th 2011 Zedworld Bash!!

sorry to hear that...thats a gutter..wasnt going due to being in scotland but im sure anyone that was planning is gutted

for the best, the roads up here a week or so ago were very dangerous, im sure it will be a great event in feb

Sorry to hear this Jeff but as you say probably for the best considering, im sure the event in feb will be just as much fun if not more so> wheather depending :)

Chris

judjing by the way the weather went this year itll be crazy hot in feb an thatll be our summer

Wise move, sure it will be bigger and better once re-scheduled :)

Ian jnr and I are probably the only ones that from a purly selfish reason, glad that it had to be rescheduled (sorry Jeff), but at least we will now be able to meet everyone, as we should be well over the chest infections and flu that we contracted which forced us to cancel attending tomorrow's bash, so will be able to attend in Feb .

Thanks agin to Jeff and all at Zedworld.

Sorry to hear this but the snow and freezing tempertures are not good driving conditions for any car let alone a 300bhp rear wheel drive zed still snowing here 8" of white stuff and freezing every night:no:Finding it very challenging on main roads in a 4x4. Good luck with February guys:thumbup1:

A lot of work has already gone into this by Jeff,Jamie and Linda so would just like to say well done guys and sorry the weather got so bad, might make it over in February (tell Linda I will have satnav lol) and Happy Christmass:thumbup:

having just got in i think this is very sensible . the roads around here are trechorous . i very nearly lost the volvo a couple of times driving very slowly so driving a zed in this around here would be life threatening . big sympathies to all at zedworld after all the planning but the only course of action you could have taken .

I cant believe this bloody weather. I was in Birmingham yesterday and the roads were clear, got back to the island at 5:45am this morning and it started to come down. Within 2 hours the car was covered the roads undriveable. So gutted, i booked and paid for my ferry ticket in advance to get it cheaper lol

A wise decision though Jeff, such a shame, but at least we can still have a meet in Feb.

Ah a shame however im glad i dont have to drive in that the snow hasnt hit Lincoln yet :) Ill be there for it in the new year

Marty

It is indeed a shame but Jeff, you're definitely right to cancel it mate!!

I've just been out for a drive and even the main roads round here are treacherous. I tried to get into High Wycombe and have do negotiate a long steep hill (Cryer's Hill for those local to me). Whilst I could (just!) do it in the Rav, I could not believe that anyone without a 4x4 even bothered.

Guys and gals in their Mondeos and Astras etc just got stuck and were sliding/spinning across both carriageways - it was clear that no-one in a normal car could get up, yet they still tried. And ended up blocking the road for everyone:angry:

However the 5th of February sounds a good idea Jeff. I look forward to seeing everyone in the New Year.

So I wish a very merry Christmas to Jeff, Lynda and Jamie. See you then!!

Richard:thumbup:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Theres a safe patch where i was parked! :p

Looks like i left just in time! Its started snowing really heavy in coventry just about 10 mins after i got home.

Sad to hear its cancelled, but look at the bright side, will be alot safer in Feb (hopfully) and maybe even a little warmer. And you should get a turkey a bit cheaper too :p

Good call Jeff, lets hope we can make it an even bigger event in February.

Wishing all at Zedworld a Happy Christmas and New Year.

Yeah I've had my Z out for a spin this morning, only went out to get some lemsip, ended up doing a tour of course, after leaving it idling for 10 - 15 minutes while I de-iced it the car ran so smoothly, and with it being -1 here the air was just perfect for the tubbies. Almost want to go back out in it again for no other reason than because it was SO much fun to drive.

I was all geared up to come to this (unfortunately not in the V8) but luckily checked the forum beforehand :)

Probably for the best given the current weather and the great thing is i'll have the V8 actually running properly by then so see you then guys :D

very thoughtful of you jeff and jamie

the conditions are not worth it

dont think it would have been a very good turnout anyway

also i ended up working, so i wouldnt have been able to come down.

you wil have to change it to the SPRING BASH

good call, and happy xmas to you
