Anybody knows that 300zx steering angle is not to great ant if you want to go sideways you really need to work very hard. I have s13 as well and I am using that only for drifting. S13 have much more angle that 300zx thats whats makes drifting harder on 300zx.

Anyone knows how to make more steering angle. Modified lower arms? steering tensions? or even any steering kit? Does anyone been done this or know how to do it?

Have you tried on Driftworks? They do ajustable lower arms etc but Im not sure about steering racks, maybe you can add spacer washers on the streering rack on the Zx?I did it on an e36 bmw.Isnt the r32 skyline not similar suspension set up?Theres quite afew Irish guys rocking zeds on the drift scene,Im sure someone can help you.

These guys from Steer from the rear did not seem to have any problem drifting and performing on many occassions ( SEE LINK BELOW), only main issue they had was engines letting go from all of the high revs and oil been thrown away from the oil pick up in the sump......was ok for us as we supplied them.

i thought the whole point of teh poor turning circle was handling minded? just makes it a pita to park, but there in again its the wiorst car to park ive ever owned.

I heard that if I change knucks is will give more angle. does anyone knows what shorter knucks I can fit on from maybe other car or even anyone knows modified knucks on sale ?

I would say if your hitting full lock when drifting (do you actually drift?) then you've probably gone too far to get it back anyway!

LoL,true, thats why you need that little bit extra to get you back out of trouble haha!Ideally you want the lock on a London taxi,I bet these things would get some sideways!

Guys I drift with my s13, and every drifter knows more steering lock more better, more drift angle more fun. But 300zx haven't got enough steering lock for drifting, thats is a true.

come on people drifting isent the hardest thing in the world and if you need more than full lock when drifting then you have gone way too far. i may be a bit drunk but even i know the z has more than enough steering to drift:)

i havent drifted my lame ass auto yet lol so i dunno what its gonna be like till i convert the box,,but the more steering angle you get,the more extreme the drift will get,its about the entry and exit, the more lock you can get the more sideways you cat put the car.Check out some of these cars, the steering is ridiculous how much lock theyre modified to give.I did the rack on a bmw e36 and spaced it using washers,it made a noticable difference to the lock and with the diff welded it was a nice car to throw about.

To get more lock from the Z you need to follow the same steps as any Nissan, or any other car.

Add some rack spacers between the steering rack & track control arm, or swap the track control arms for some with extra lock built in, you'll also need to mod the steering stops.

After this you'll need to start modifying the front knuckles, being alloy this is a bit harder than a S-body, & move the steering rack (or fit offset spacers).

Or you could just convert the front suspension over to the S-body set-up for uber lock.
