I recently bought a jeep from someone on eBay. He is asking me if it's ok for him to cancel the sale on eBay so he can save the £30 eBay fees.

What do you recon?

If you cancel the deal with Ebay, you will have none of the back up from Ebay or Paypal in the event something goes wrong, me personaly would leave it to go through Ebay, just had my fingers burnt with a car that didn't go through the Bay.:scared:

I would do it after you have collected the car and alls well..

Tell him to go halves with you and knock a bit off the car.

Tell him yeah ok if he sends you the £30 to make up for faults he didnt mention

Just had a guy bidding his own item up against me, now he has said the winner (him, i conclude, on a second account) is not registerd so he has offerd me a second chance to purchase as I am the second higest bidder. Dont think so!

E-bay is full of sharks and scammers; I'm not saying the seller is one of those but why ask in the first place? After all - he decided to sell the car on E-bay and knew what the cost would be once he sold!! Would you expect to advertise and sell a car for nothing...? Thought not!!

Aside from a firm "no" this is the next best option......

Good luck with the car mate - I hope the sale goes through and the car serves you well.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

tell him its fine...then when you view and its not up to scratch you can walk and theres nothing he can do

Keep the email asking to complete outside of ebay so if you do buy it outside of the bay and he has not been honest about the vehicles condition you you can still report him and get him suspened or banned. Best to check the car out properly before handing any cash over ebay or not. If you buy a car blind and only go off the description than thats your choice dont complain if you get your fingers a little burnt. I would not buy a car off ebay without checking it out first, too many messers trying to offload problem vehicles. If its too cheap then theres probabaly a reason.

Tell him that you will pay your highest bid before the unregistered account started bidding.

I would say yes, as long as it can't reflect badly on you. Ebay fees are a rip-off these days ... even more so since they now own Paypal and are double dipping on nearly every sale.

I wouldnt see any problem in doing this. You have zero comeback buying second hand cars on or off of ebay so make no difference to your rights/comback if there is a problem.

But if you get there and its not what you wanted you can offer less or walk away.

If you already have the car and are happy with it then you have no issues whether you oblige or not. Depends if you are one of these people that either doesn't give a shit, or is happy to help others.

Sorry all, Meant to say that I already have the car.

ahhh well thats another kettle of fish,if you have the car then why are you concerned how he conducts his side of things:confused:...you got the car,he's got the money whats the problem
