In 35 years roofing today has been the coldest ive worked in without fail...took a bottle of juice on the roof as i always do and came off the roof at 3.45pm with a solid bottle of ice:eek: 3 storeys up and that wind had my ciggy lighter freezing up too. Yeh, got the lad to make a nice warm cuppa tea when he came back up it was nearly cold!!! unbelivable, I bought a full mans thermal baby grow, had that on with my helly hanson thermal t shirt, snowboard socks, jeans, another tshirt and a big fook off jumper and a nice warm fur hat, it was still bloody freezing. I was in switzerland a few years back and it was -35, 4000 meters up, with a wind chill of nearly -50, with snowboards attached, took my hand from my glove to take a picture as it was blowing a snow storm in a sort of whirlwind and my hand froze solid and my camera died!!! that s the coldest ive ever been, but not far from it today, thank fook for a nice warm shower when i got back home :yes::thumbup:

This weather is playing havoc with my work at the moment, and it's nowhere near as cold down here. Been cutting a roof in today and find it impossible to work with gloves on normally but gave in today. It's fooking taters!! Keep drinking coffee to warm up and liven up but takes forever to find the old chap to go for a jimmy!!

It seems some people are reluctant to make workmen etc brews or even provide a small tray of biscuits they seem to take the approach im paying for the job not food and drink too :cursing:

W00p i work on the Pan as an Aircraft mechanic for the RAF, im out in the wind chill for hours at a time be it my 7am - 7 pm shift or my 7pm - 7 am shift, good times. I double in size with the ammount of clothes i wear.

Popped up to Doncaster last night to pick up the other half's pressy for xmas and it hit -13 on the way back(!)

 

It was actually so cold that even with heated washer jets and antifreeze in the wiper fluid it froze in two sticks as it squirted out! :rofl:
