Can't believe how the time has flown, 4 years today since my Z was last on the road :(

Just lost interest in it I'm sad to say. I still love it but no time to put it back together after the first 2 bodyshops mess-ups . It's sat on my drive for nearly 2 years now.

 

It's difficult with no garage and you can't leave tools around cos stuff just gets nicked :(

i know how you feel mate, if we ever move then its deffo a house with garage or a way into back yard so i can build one

 

would love to see you on the road especially after all the work you have put into it

I know the feeling mate im trying to get mine back on road as we speak although it will still have issues to sort even then, sorry to hear about the body shop mess ups i now other mates who have had the same but not with Z's it can make you loose hope

I know how you feel too Vijay. I thought all your probs were sorted and the Zed was back on the road. Dont give up on it bud :)

maybe it would be worth renting yourself a lock up. better than it just sitting on the drive taking up room, out in the wet and yuck. simple lock ups can be found quite cheaply. and you wouldnt have to worry then.

wish I had the room for it mate but having issues with the new neighbour as it is (they're scum). Looking to move within a year or 2 so will have the big garage then ;)

Cheers bud. They did do an amazing job on the bodywork but it's just very depressing when you have no idea where boxes of bits go anymore, hence the lack of enthusiasm :(

Found it on fleabay bud from a place in Retford nottingham , just put in 6x3 gazebo or carport , ive fastened it down well and put plenty of rope over it to hold it all together in any strong winds and so far it,s been fine HTH :thumbup1::thumbup1:

sorry to hear that mate,i hardly drive mine 1000 miles a year if im lucky family dont fit,but lucky got garage,you got a nice beast there ,i feel the same some times cant be bothered with it after months but as all the members will agree when i do get back in it god what a feeling mate hang in there zs are like the sunset shame when they go down but theres always sunrise!!!

man... thats a shame. whats left to do? what do you need to put back together? also where is your rust? I hope you get it back on the road... i miss my zed too... :(

All rear lights, some wiring, pretty much the whole interior. Got rust spots around the rear window and boot panel and some marks here and there. I'm sad to say but within a year or so it'll have to be back in to sort it out :( Good thing is I've finally found people I trust ;)

I'm always looking at 300zx's for sale and many a times I've found myself restraining myself from buying back silverstreak when it's been up for sale (even now).

 

I think it's been two years now since I've driven a 300xz. If I were to get another I would get silverstreak back as I know the car inside out.

good to see you've found people you trust! Did you ever get round to asking that guy whom I recommended? Chris at E&A Coachworks? He does a lot of restoration stuff for classic porsches, it would be worth hitting him up still, personally thats the only bodyshop i trust.

 

did toy with the thought of another zed... as you can see i do visit the boards from time to time, never really see any zeds that catch my eye though... although i'm wondering what genuine '99 specs would go for these days...

 

i currently have a 1996 911 (993) carrera 4. i'm thinkng of selling for a new gtr or a left of field option, porsche cayman s and do some silly mods! although its slightly ghey.

one more thing vijay, re interior, there is a chap in wembley who retrimmed my porsche with nappa leather and did a top job. his prices are reasonable too and he also works freelance with VAG on building their concept car interiors, a very knowledgable and honest chap. if you want i can show you his work on my car and pass on his details... i no longer have PM privileges so call/text me!
