Made a start on the sub enclosures for my slicktop this morning. Got as far as finishing the templates before i got offered free Arsenal tickets. Here is where i got to.

Firstly scribe the top part to fit snug with trim

Then scribe the front panel where the speaker will be fitted

Mark the top and cut to suit and there you have a sub enclosure for a SWB

Sorry for size of pics but i don't know how to reduce them. I'll update as i progress. Any comments/advice is welcomed and encouraged. Cheers guys

Cheers fellas, appreciated.

The boot floor is 18mm, enclosures 12mm with 18mm front. Amp cover 6mm perforated.

Hardly a joiner Daz, I class myself as a competent labourour lol.

They are only 8" subs with hardly any gain so not too bassy but scope to up it. One 10" sub would of sufficed but I wanted a symmetrical look. Slightly ocd but glad I did, looks better imo.

I want a Graphic Equaliser in my second din slot, anyone know if Sony do them anymore?

Think u will benefit from fitting ports in the enclosures! If u look at most subs around they have a port built into the housing .. I made a sub box years ago & I found the cheap chrome down lights work perfect, just use the right size hole saw then after u cover the box use the downlight fitting to finish off the hole! also another tip is to use a good silicone on all your joints internally !! DO NOT USE FILLER, WOOD FILLER, OR CAULK as this will break up after a while with all the boom booming & end up rattling around in the box,

That's better!!

Told you it would look better flush with existing boot trim.

To get it even try putting some little wedges under the sub box and fix in place when it's level. This also helps isolate the sub and give it a better punch.
