Do you think I could take it to one of the foreigner hand car wash places? my mate reckons its taking the piss a bit, but my theory is that they are advertising a service, why not make the most of it? :confused1:

go for it, but take a camera, i want to see the look on the guys face when you say, "id like a full service please for your advertised £5"

We Have one near us and they are Fantastic. Washed leathered off, windows polished inside and out and they leave my Alpina alloys Spotless (which are a bitch to clean) WELL WORTH A FIVER IMHO.

 

Oh and I take the misses 4x4 there as well and its 6 quid even when it is covered in shite from the fields

My van gets a wash every 10k or so, its absolutly rank and filthy normally. (Infact with my line of work, having it dirty means it often blends in and doesnt stand out so I have my reasons) I have taken it to a local place a couple of times now and they do it each time, often takes two of them but they do it for £5! lol

.....I've stopped using all hand car washes now and do it myself. Always!! I've seen so many cars come away from these places with swirl marks - where they have not made sure the mit (or worse, sponge) is free from bits of crap before wiping it all over someone's paintwork....:thumbdown:

 

In fact, when my SLK has a service I won't even let the MB dealership clean it. I always make sure the service manager is informed not to let their sponge-monkey near my car!!

just jet wash it, if it doesnt come back spotless no worries. you dont need it clean, they look gay clean

i'm not bothered if it comes back with swirls - its covered in scratches anyway :lol:

me and 2 mates with well spec'd land rovers got proper stuck down a lane last night in the rain, we had to turn back as it soon became truck sized bomb holes and a bit too serious lol. So its absolutely filthy now, just need a quick clean as it'll be dirty again soon.
