OK the "Lights warning light" light came on when I applied the brakes, When I checked the brake lights the High level one was on but the two normal brake lights had failed. Switched everything off (I'm in IT)and tried again all ok.

Worked ok and then happened again is there a relay in the circuit?

Any ideas please!

Thanks for sharing, it's always useful to know this stuff just in case it happens to anyone else. Good luck with your light fix.

Thats for a Z31, but ours do have the light control box on the rear lights. Check the box for water or damp. If its not on its slider on the rear drivers panel, it tends to end up in the bottom corner of the boot where it will get filled with water and short the board. If its really corroded or components are falling off the board, best get another from a breaker.

If its not too far gone, may be able to dry it out and give it a spray with some contact cleaner.

Check the box first and go from there.

Thanks for the update I knew it was for the Z31, but as you said the box is still on ours Drivers side rear light cluster and all I had to do was check the connections and it's working fine again. If it fails again I will get another. Cheers!
