Hi, now looking to fit 1.0 mm mig welding tips to act as boost jets,,as i have aquired a modified ECU suitable for my car, can anybody point me in the direction of an idiots guide to fitting the jets, the last thing i want is for them to be sucked into the Turbo Intakes

thanks

thanks , can anybody tell me what stops the inserted jets from being sucked up into the engine, the way i read the tutorial is that the jets are simply pushed into place , not glued , or fixed with a jubilee clip then the small hose re attached .

there being forced towards the actuators so no risk of ingestion..and believe me once pushed into pipe (taper end 1st) the fit is tight so you have to force them down just before the circlip end but dont use anything steel as you run the risk of tearing the end up and blocking the tiny 1mm hole resulting in over-boost,use a plastic or wooden dowl and smear a bit of oil on them 1st to help the inserstion (ask the wife about this:lol:)..light oil and not grease or you again run the risk of blocking up the small 1mm hole...goodluck

at the risk of being thick , are you saying, slide clip back, remove small pipe, insert jet taper end first , push into place ensuring no blockages, re fit small tube back into position, slide jubilee clip back into place to lock pipe into position as it was before removal,

apologies for being so specific but i dont want to run the risk of killing my motor

i have just fitted some of these and they where a very loose fit. the jet just slid streight into the pipe. lol. i think i might put a cable tie around the outside of the pipe just to keep the jet in place???

You have too small external diameter boost jets, they should be a fairly tight fit.

Find some larger Mig welding tips.

If they are loose you will just have air escaping past them and you'll get inconsistent boost pressures that wont be as high as you want.

well they are now secure but im not sure if the boost jest are actually working??? there dosent seem to be much difference in power.

As Yowser has stated mate, iff there loose then there not working as boosted air is getting around the tip instead of through it..secure is ok but airtight is what your after;)

they are now very secure mate. i have clamped them tight. no air will get passed them. just through.

what size Mike

i wanted 1mm but they didnt fit so i had to put the 0.8mm ones in.

be very carefull with the 0.8's...that size gave me 17-18psi on stock tubs:eek:
