gurgling aiv

my aivs gurgle. well intermitently, sometime sthey do sometimes they dont. should i be bothered should i do something about it? the fact that it sounds like a kid blowing bubbles in amilksake ever now and again at idle doesnt really worry me. i cant hear it most of the time, and how does joe blogs on the street know there not a little chunky kid hiding behind the bus stop blowing bubbles :D

i do have cats...... maybe there the ones blowing the bubbles? what bearing does the cat being in place have?

The air intake valve introduces cooler air to stop the cats overheating. You can get to the aiv's as descibed in the link, by removing inner plastic wheel arch covers, unbolt and empty out the water.

If you de cat, then the AIV's are redundant. In later models the AIV's were discontinued.

You can also drill them, so that the water drains out regualrly if you want to keep your cats in.
