Hi,

The car's going in for a re-spray on Monday and need to remove the black side stripe that runs around the car.

How easy is it to remove? It's been on for years...is it a hair dryer job?

Don't know if a hair dryer will do it mate. tried it with mine and it still took the paint off with it.

If its getting re-painted anyway, just rip it of and sandpaper in the grooves.

been on too long no doubt to get it off without lifting some paint. Flat blade screwdriver, big enough to get in the groove. You can try heat, you might be lucky.

For a few hundred pounds more...yes!

ouch!! yeah best try yourself then lol damn expensive

Get a Caramel wheel , it,s specially designed to remove stripes , decals and double sided tape without damaging your paintwork , you can get them from any decent motorfactor .

It,s a rubber wheel on a arbor that you put in a drill and basically rub the stripes or tape off , they work great .HTH

Wish I'd asked the question before I removed mine for painting earlier in the year, what a pain in the backside to take of they keep on breaking of little bits at a time
