Talking to a guy from Eastbourne (a seaside town dun saaf) this morning. He told me his blue 1994 Z just prepped for the 200 mph club was stolen two weeks ago. The police said within 48 hours it would have been broken and parts sold off to order, probably internet breakers sites. He warned me to watch out for empty low loaders cruising the streets, it seems Z’s are a popular target.

 

Any one had cars stolen?

 

What state were they in if found?

I sell trackers for a living. there are ways to make sure that a tracking device doesnt go off line like that, If anyone wants any suggestions or help on this topic, im happy to help.

 

I can also supply trackers at COST for subscribed members and recommend local engineers to fit them. again mods please edit if required, im not trying to sell for profit but if anyone does want a tracker at cost im happy to help.

Generaly though the Z is not a typical target. Too old, too rare and too cheap.

my old black zed was stolen back in January, was stolen by a low loader, i left it outside a school, and it was stolen during a weekday, no one thought to question it?

 

never saw my poor Z again ...

 

it was parked between 2 cars, had a cat 1 alarm (with tilt sensors) and it only had 3 wheels on it... (was having a tyre replaced so was left on a jack...)

 

police seemed to think they used a truck with a crane arm, but how the hell they did it without settting the alarm off or touching the cars eitherside, or without anyone asking any questions everyone on that street know it was my Z....

sadly no one ever asks questions. alarms go off all the time and people just think its an annoying noise. I once ended up taking half the interior out a car in a car park on a busy friday night to change a steering column so i could drive it home- parts everywhere and nobody even came over - not even two coppers on the beat! I was utterly amazed but having had 3 cars stolen it no longer surprises me at all.

i left my window down in teh summer, it set the alarum off all day while i was at work. till the battery was flat. no one said anything. and i actually talk to my neighbours, they know where i work have contact info etc but nothing nice eh.

one of my mates rigged one of those atomisers that run off the spare tyre's air to his alarm, had the jets pointing out the front wheel arches, was really affective, well really funny till he need the spare tyre...
