Right i have my thermostat from my car in front of me, now i know it should be fully closed when cold, but its not, but i have a niggly feeling about it so just would like someone to confirm it lol

Fully closed = good

Almost closed but not quite = bad

Thanks, for some reason i questioned my self about it, even knowing all too well that its closed. even scoured over jeffTTs threads and saw a few closed just to make sure but still that niggly feeling. i suppose I'm going to get my arm chewed off for a Genuine Nissan part lol

just pricing it all up at the moment, timing belt, timing belt tensioner, should i replace the idler pulleys?

may as well do that while the front of the engine is apart for the water pump.

Save yourself some money and get from MJP instead.

You can check the idler pulleys for noise, resitance, play. If they do anything other than spin smoothly and quitely then replace them.
