Not looking like a decent set of 2nd handers around. had my existing 450cc injectors flow tested and wasn't happy

{ignore my rides section... was told I had 740's by seller, but just wasn't the case}.

if i don't find a good used set Tuesday, I am going to bite the bullet and buy a set of new ones.

Any suggestions on where, why and for how much I should and probably will be looking at?

I've got a pre '94 car.... so I may have to buy a rail also... depending on which way I go. I prefer 650cc's. am being pushed to get 740's,, but would look at 550's

Regardless of cost, I'm going to have to order some by tuesday... so any advice, insight is much appreciated.

Just bite the bullet mate and buy new, rarely see them second hand and even then if i was buying second hand i'd want them flow tested.

Just buy Nismo 555's for a pre 94 with new connectors, wap them in and job done, no rail required and you know they good.

Plus many off the shelf chips to suit.

Order from the US and you'll have them by wednesday.

No mate, they meant for the newer style fule rails. so you would need an adapter kit from Z1 or similar.

Also am only aware of 1 company who do on the shelf chip for 740cc's so you need to trasnport the car somewhere to be mapped, unless JD could do you a rough chip to drive ssomewhere.

Also the Sard's listed by Craig am 99.9% certain will also need fuel rails or adapter kit. You can always check with the seller tho.

As said, sometimes just bite the bullet and wap the known branded Nismo's in with no adapater kit needed.

Robs running a stand alone ECU so that won't be a problem, his car is currently at my workshop and i can get my tuner (Ryan @ 2bar tuning) to come out to the car

I have a new adaptor kit if Boomin needs it.

I've seen the SARDS and can see they are a couple hundred quid cheaper than Nismos' lets say. but are they also potentially a couple hundred quid less quality also? no one had ever recommended SARD's to me before...

going to cost me a good £100 to send a used set to be flow tested.. so starting to think new ones are just the safest option...

or it is best to get even new ones cleaned tested for a high output engine ( just to make sure you know what each injector is putting out?)

*had a compression test done on cyclinders yesterday and all within about 5% of each other.. so don't mind sticking 740's on along with all the other fuelling upgrades being done right now and then going for a RR stress test :)

Seeing as Silverbullet can get yer car mapped with what ever injectors and Jimmer having an adapter kit, you really do have a choice of which ones to go for.

Sard are perfectly fine and they make many good products, however being second hand IMO you should have them flow tested etc.

But for easiness and a gaurantee if failure, i'd go new ones and probably the cheaper Nismo 740's, if it was me

i like the 650's and the price is going to be hard to beat for new injectors... that seem to be quality enough

totally agree with you there Smithy. although they should still be flow tested and cleaned, you know they are not going to fail on you.

ive got to say folks dont rule out the deatschwerks injectors, fitted three sets now and they have been spot on.got a set myself and the price is very competitive.http://www.deatschwerks.com/catalog/

Thanks Jimmer, will def consider these; especially with the experience you've had.

like the fact that they are 550's ( at $600 ). Not convinced 740's are really that necessary. Are 550's theoretically good for 550 at the fly or wheels?

For your set up id go for 740 cc,you should only run an injector up to 80% of its duty cyle or capability,if you fit 550cc then find they are at the limit youll kick yourself, the extra cost isnt massive and it saves buying twice if the 550s dont cope.

exaclty what i said last week :)

Yeah you will do mate. For that price i think its about £25-£30 iirc on my last order around that price.

other than a fleeting panic that Silverbullet will be getting pissed off with me if I didn't sort a solution.

the past 5 days... well, can't say my mind was entirely focused on fueling issues! ;)

1st day back and quickly ordered. the $40 for the adapter stuff seemed insignificant.... sorry I missed the offer! Yours any different to what I just ordered??

IMAG0175-2.jpg, Villajoyosa, Spain -yesterday.... 23 degrees of Sunshine... as apposed to some of that great British weather we had today!
