i have a 1990 twin turbo import lwb, just wondering how much a stock rebuild would cost and where i could get it done, im due my whiplash claim shortly and will be putting whatever i get towards getting it done, just after some ideas of price though for now???

Not sure on costs, but contact Jimmer on here as he's done sooooo many rebuilds on Zeds now, he's gotta be top dog!

Unless your chasing big power gains which does seriously cost, just go for a basic rebuild with new pistons, big ends, oil pump, cam belt and water by pass and job's a goodun :-)

i would preder to have mine rebuilt as i wouldnt want to put my faith in another engine even if it does have warrunty.

i would want it rebuilding all stock with new turbo's pumps cambelt, etc etc basicly just for peice of mind knowing that the car will last a few more years, then i can look to get the bodywork done how i want it.

if your looking into that sort of build i.e almost everything new. you will also be wanting a new wiring loom which are around £300 i believe. off the top of my head just for the engine re-built i should think 2k for that. then tubs anywhere from £500 for re-con up to whatever you want to pay basically for bigger better ones?

yeh the only upgrades i was thinking were bigger turbos better injectors and better exhaust system (later) with better air intake system , but the rest as stock, i just want it so i can (once its done) add a boost controller and get a little more power without blowing myself up.

2k was a rough price i had in mind, then a bit extra for other upgrades

any ideas who is best to take it too to get this done , or is it a straight foward job for a normal mechanic ? ( ie a friend of mine/ )
