I know I'm asking for trouble but here goes...

...when the 370Z was first announced, I was absolutely delighted. The photos looked great and early reports suggested that it was great to drive and far superior to the 350 in every way.

Having now seen a couple on the road (only a couple compared to hundreds of 350s...) and also read the latest reviews, the picture doesn't seem quite as rosy.

Many have commented how the last incarnation of the 350 is better to drive, more agile and more refined, where as the 370 has been criticised by the majority as very noisy, and not as exciting as the 350.

As for looks, I must admit that I was rather underwhelmed. Very short, slab-sided and frankly not as attractive as I had imagined, especially in grey and light blue.

Quite disappointing, but at least the 350Z is looking more promising, especially as it's not too expensive 2nd hand!

Any thoughts?

For looks I'm still not so sure - perhaps the 350z is (just) still more attractive. But from the reports I've read, the 370 is a very capable car even when compared to a Boxster or Cayman (both of which are excellent drivers' cars).

I also reckon the 370z might have a better build quality, feel and finish.

Nonetheless, the 350z is a very good car with fine handling and decent performance - plus they are a bit of a bargain now!!

Both cars do suffer badly from being the wrong colour though; like the Mk4 Supra, get the wrong colour and it looks DAMN ugly......

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

prefer the 350z myself - dont like the look of the 370z as much, the light clusters look weird imo.

the 350z has been on the agenda since it came out, but the 370z dont really do it for me.

i like the 370, i think it looks a hell of a lot better than the 350 as well. and as for noise, that's what a stereo is for :D

never been a fan of the 350z. Poor/unworthy replacement for the 300zx, im sure it met the current consumer needs but no getting away from that its a cheaper vehicle meant for a lower market class.

The 370z seems to be a much improved car. I've not read any recent reviews on it, but definatly has the edge on looks and with all the the other improvements that were talked about it seems to be a much better car.

For me I'd have the 350z and spend the money I'd saved on a turbo kit or supercharger:yes:

Just Youtube it... Goodbye Gallardo:thumbup:

cheers

Both the MD's at the company i used to work for had 350's then 370's, they

both say the 370 is a far better drivers car.

Have been in a 350 and was not overwhelmed by the performance, my

mr2 turbo would stay with it easily.

When all is said and done, neither of them look as good as a 300zx.

I know somebody who bought a new 350z. When the 370 came out, he was invited for a trest drive. He said it was better in every way!

I prefer the 370 for looks and keeping the original shape but i would have a 350z also!!!

i think when the 350 first came out I was quite underwhelmed with it - especially the change in shape, and when the 370 came out I was of the opinion that it was what the 350 should have been. but to be fair, the price of the 350 is so low now and the bang you get for your buck is such that I would be very tempted to buy one should I ever get rid of my 300 and my Civic.

As far as looks are concerned, the Z32 was a real exotic when it was launched and in a completely different class to most sports cars. Even today, in the right colour and spec, it is definitely much better looking than both the Z33 and Z34.

It's just disappointing that after the Z32, there isn't really an upgrade path, especially if you want a 2+2. The R34 and R35s are awesome cars, but just don't have the looks of an exotic.

I prefer the 370 over the 350, the next step after a Z32 is the R35 as the 32 was what the 35 is today, better than machinery costing 4 times the price
