Is it just me or do they all just have a random number generator to give quotes?!

Thought Flux were supposed to me specialists in imported/modded/fast cars - quoted me THREE TIMES what More Than quoted me via confused.com. FFS!!

I'm am as old as god and have been driving yonks, and yes Marc is a lot younger and not as much driving experience but neither of us has ever claimed/got any points etc. Cannot see where they get these figures from!

Best quote so far fully comp is £611 which is a bit eye watering but better than almost £2k which most of these rip off merchants want to charge!

Cheers buddy, will do. I only pay about £250 for my Zed with Lynbrook, they're fab but they won't insure Marc as he's under 25 :glare:

I go with Chaucer through sky insurance really friendly and cheap and helpful

Adrian flux are rubbish for most it seems. Try elephant.co.uk also - not too bad. But your right it does seem like a bit of a random generator with some companies, Flux told me that their price was definately the lowest and that as specialists - NO ONE could come close to the astronomical £700 odd quid they quoted.

He even said "You'll be back"..... "Only to ram my considerably cheaper insurance documents up your arse mate!".... is what i should have said, especially considering that both Carol Nash and elephant were cheaper - ended up with Lynbrook £260

but alas i am getting old so i just said - thanks mate but i'll go elsewhere

Carol Nash £1611, Elephant £1500! F**k off!!!

Looks like More Than are going to get our business then.

Still need to call Chris Knott in the morning and see if Sky contact me too

God I hate this part of car ownership!

Carol Nash £1611, Elephant £1500! F**k off!!!

You can get cash back if you initially go through Quidco, even if its 20 notes its better than a poke in the eye.

You just need to register - simples :winkiss:

Took a bit of time but just done the wifes car and renewal with LV was £302, got it still with LV FOR £304 but I will get £20.00 back in a month or so :cool3:

These £20 and £30's all add up you know

Cheers, will investgate - would have to be getting a better quote than £611 with More Than to make it worthwhile tho

i pay just over 300 notes and im only a youngster. thats with elephant so prolly crap if i ever need to claim, but worth a quote...

Elephant is part of Admiral; I'm with Admiral for my daily drive and Julia's car on a multi-car policy. When I had to claim a couple of years back I have to say their service was excellent!

My car was off the road for 10 weeks being repaired and they sorted me a shiney brand new Merc E320cdi during that time to blat around in!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Elephant gave me a stupid quote online - still the best by a country mile is More Than - will see if the specialists call me tomorrow to beat it. I realy do fail to see how the prices can vary so wildly!! Grrr!

Incidentally guys and gals; Adrian Flux is a fully subbed trader on here so please remember that when posting your opinions!!

Different insurers class certain risks differently from others; so sometimes a 1.4 Fiesta can be more to insure than a 3.0 300zx depending on driver combinations etc....

.....sure it doesn't always seem logical; but then if someone choses to underwrite that risk for less money then good luck to them. It's your money and ultimately your choice who you give it to, to cover your pride and joy.....

Well in that case, with any luck, they will spot my post, see my plight and get me a decent quote ;o)

Pretty sure I didn't slate em, only expressed my frustration at the wild variations in insurance costs and that so far the specialists have also been the most expensive.....

Flux came out really good for me with all mods declared! A few guys I know kept going on about Sky insurance & how much cheaper they are than flux but wanted about £200 or so more for the same cover.

Strange how it varies so fookin much!!
