I want to clear the orange casing out of my front indicators as per a previous thread recently re-posted, and replace the bulbs with orange LEDs.

Would these be bright enough to work safely as indicators?

Cheers guys

No, with a bulb you get a full 360 glow so reflect the light really well.

leds are more direct and just point forward,

Why not get some silver bulbs??

I just assumed that the bulbs would have to be orange so that it would pass MOT?

Do indicators not have to be orange?

The silverbulbs that Car.mad mentioned light up Orange, but appear silver when off so dont give off the fried egg look through the lense.

Although there are multi-directional LED clusters available these days, and they are plenty bright enough, a lot of mainstream manufactures have been moving to LED technology lately.
