abs plastic and perspex

hi

has anyone any experience with abs plastic and perspex.car.mad:wink:

im gonna give making some eye-lids a shot.

also quite fance moulding perspex for som other stuff but id imagine it be the same tec.

any help or advice would be good

i used to be a plastic fabricator many years ago . for ABS you need a vacuum former as allan said . perspex or acryllic to give it its proper name is not for moulding . it also scratches very easy and is brittle .

mot, insurance change over and RD tax is takin all my wages +i like makin stuff

for the plastic(i ken this sounds a bit ricer) im planning on putiing m3carbon fiber vinyl on it

just to see wot it looks like.

it sucks the heated ABS down onto the mold .

wot if you dont have a mold and just shaping it with a heat gun and wrapping it in abouve said vinyl,

like i said im just wanting to see how it turns out

if it's bull then at least i tryd it and if it goes well then bonus its costing less than £10 for bits

my best advice would be forget the heat gun . stick it in the oven on gas mark 6 for about 10 mins lol
