Having a trauma with my brakes.... Overhauled all my calipers, and let the fluid just seep out, as I intended to flush all the fluid out and replace with fresh.

I can't seem to be able to bleed them, any tips? Starting at the furthest away (passenger rear) and no air is coming out, have tried a one way valve bleeder thingy, but still nothing is coming out, even with a piece of pipe in some brake fluid, and no bubbles at all are coming out, any suggestions or tips?

Back ones ain't happening, just getting no where, can pump all day and nothing? Pax front and drivers are fine, no probs, thought I would do them a go as getting no where with the rear after a long long time....

You need to bleed the ABS system first then the breaks. the way i did it

Remove the wheel arch cover over the drivers side rear wheel arch (inside the boot), move the flap of fabric back to reveal the ABS unit, now there are two types, one with bleed nipples (that i hope you have) and one with out. now on top of the ABS unit should be 2 nipples one for front one for rear. attach a piece of air bubbler tubing from a fish tank, (can get it from pets at home for a few quid, might have to heat the end to get it go over the nipple) using a spanner, loosen the nipple and start pumping until fluid comes out with no air in it. now tighten the nipple.

Next, do the rear ABS nipple until no air bubbles come out of the tubing (good thing about the tubing is you can see when air stops coming out and leave enough to be able to not have to worry about air getting back into the system, if doing it on your own) now bleed the front drivers, then front passengers, then do the same this time for the rear. bleeding rear drivers, then rear passengers calipers, now do the ABS unit again just to make sure.

Your brakes should now be bled,

Tips -

- Use clear see through tubing on the nipples to help see the air bubbles.

- Never add the stuff that comes out of the tubing back into the brake fluid reservoir, as it contains tiny little bubbles, always top up using fresh break fluid.

- Keep an eye on the break fluid level as it goes pretty fast once you start pumping.

- Always leave a good 4 inches of clear fluid with no air in it between the last air bubble and the nipple so you can safely do the nipple up with out fear of getting air sucked back into the caliper / ABS unit.

I have fitted some self bleeding nipples on my calipers from d/tweeks , it did take a lot of pumping to get the air out to start , be patient it will come through , but as Vodka said be sure to use fresh fluid

summet just doesn't seem right, all the front is bled including the ABS unit's nipple for the front, that all went well, took a bit of time but i expected that, but i cannot get any air at all out off the other ABS nipple or either rear caliper, just no air coming out of any of em at all, not a sausage....? everything is tightened up etc. i.e. brake pipes and such...

does it feel stiff on the peddle when trying to bleed the rear or really spongy? did you bleed both front and back ABS before bleeding the calipers?

stiff-ish if i leave it for a few minutes then after 1 push, really spongy, and no air will come out of the ABS unit nipple for the rears, or either rear corner.... There's nowt under the bonnet is there?

i think abs is the last thing to bleed, do furthest brake from master cylinder working forward.

nothing is being pumped to the rears at all, not even the tiniest air bubble, had the master cylinder off tonight, and is impossible to get it to pump anything out of the feed for the rears.....
