Can't blame weather conditions or my driving (honest!). Turning left at a roundabout, familiar with the road, wasn't going fast, didn't gas it as I came off the bend and the car decided to do its best impression of a sidewinder :crying: Scared the bejeezus out of me and Marc and it was so lucky there was no traffic in the outside lane coz the car swirled from one lane to the other before I got control of it again. And then the back end skippet out on me doing 40mph on a straight piece of dual carriageway.

Seriously brown trouser moment. Really don't know why it happened. Not sure if perhaps my tyres aren't quite right, but they have always felt ok......

Eeek!

Go find out what make the tyres are, if they are cheapo ones then that may be your reason lol

Tyre make and tyre pressure possibly?

Have a look at your suspension aswell incase one sides dropped or something?

probally a dirty horrid bus coughed its guts all over the road and left you a nice slipping deseaseil slick to float about on like an ice rink.

Ha ha Pete :tt2:

Radial auto grip tyres - anyone heard of em?

They were brand new when I bought the car....

HICAS perhaps? is there any play in the HICAS arms? This could cause it to skip out. Worth checking.

Also well done for not crashing, its scary when the car just goes and your not ready for it!

Suspension, etc all checked over last month, everything is as sweet as a nut. Oil on raod could be feasible. All I know is that I cacked myself lol

Wont be HICAS as they don't have them on poverty spec models :tt2:

Thanks, if I drank, I would have headed for the beer fridge when I got home, it would have been well deserved lol! Had the car thoroughly checked last month, mechanic said it was faultless so unless something has suddenly gone wrong (how? I don't drive it enough to break it lol)

Unless installing 1 of John Dixon's modded ECUs has given it some extra torque and its just quite set up right now......thats the only thing thats changed recently....

Bloody hell they are shockingly budget tyres!! Hmm, she's getting SORNed end of Oct, think she will get treated to some new rubbers!

Ha ha ha, you're all sooooooooo funny re my driving skills!!

Bloody good job I'm as experienced as I am or the car would have won that particular tussle! And yes Craig, adrenalin rush was certainly one way to describe it lol! LEts just say my language was not very lady like!!

you should get some Falken452's or toyo proxis. best tyres i have had for the zed

My thoughts too.....

.....Hi Jane - tyres really do make a difference on these cars. Both my ZXs had Avons on when I bought them and they were crap! I currently run the new Goodyear F1 asymetrics on my twin turbo and, even in the wet, the grip is superb! No brown trouser moments for me and I don't always drive it gently.....

Richard:cool3:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

My tyres are budget performance tyres that i got with my wheel and tyre package. They perform fantastic in the dry but in the wet they are dangerous. If it's damp on the road and not even raining if i am doing 70 MPH and put my foot down the cars arse steps out :scared:

Hmmm, definitely replacement tyres. Wonder if I can part ex mine given they've done less than 4km? So, some recommend Falkens, some Toyo proxies, some Goodyear. Will investigate and start saving. I hate feeling like I can't give the car any beans! Was def damp on Sunday and I have almost never driven the zed in the wet before....am guessing I'm looking at app. £100 a corner tho?

well done for keeping the girl on the black stuff
