I know what you mean, its a pita. Like the vec of the supra you pull the stick and it does the job.

The zed you have to turn it on and then off to do this and the wipers move twice :2guns:

there must be a wire we can part with a relay and pulse a live or earth down?

somebody in the last 20 years must have done this.. i was thinking of putting a button down near the gear stick where my hand rests. im gonna check this out next weekend and see if i can find the wire that pulses on one "on off" turn of the wheel.

This has been a PITA ever since I can remember but I've never thought about searching for a way around it! Would be very interested in any fixes developed!

yer why they could never put a stalk in to pop them on for one sweep.. im going to get my tools out at weekend and see if we can get this to work though a relay. im certain it must be possible tbh as our cars are old enough to work on simple 12+ and 12- pulses or feeds.

ill keep you all posted...

I don't mind having to reach for the control so much, it's that fact that it has to do a wipe when you turn the control off (what the logic behind that idea was I can't think), meaning you can't just do a single wipe, it has to do two. If you find a way of disabling the 'off' wipe that would make me a lot happier!

the 2nd (bloody annoying wipe) is the primitive method of setting the wipers to park mode. if you look closely, when the wipers are active but not moving they sit slightly higher up the windscreen. when you turn them off, the reason they sweep is to go back into park mode. in park mode they sit with the blades almost touching the scuttle (if they are in the correct position on the spline!)

they dont though lol... you normally turn the wipers off once its stopped raining... so the screen is dry... you turn em off and they shudder and squeak across the dry screen. grrr LOL

Mine dont :D got um from tescos as well do the job nicely

They should do if the screen's clear though!!

Screen is clear, not all wiper blades stick or make screeching noises when the window is dry.

second that i have some aero wipers from ebay and they dont screech and they are very good cost me £10 for all 3 :D

Update: We can make the two sweep remote at the very least so we dont need to reach out and turn the knob on and off for one sweep (or two)

im going to put a stainless steel momentary/push to make switch around where my left hand rests near the gear stick so i can just press it once and it will wipe my windscreen.

For jap imports there is a orange wire on the connector block at the rear of the rotary switch, this rests at 12+ when ignition is on. It requires a 12- pulsed earth to mimick the switching of the knob on and off.

As an alternative if you prefer you can fit a rocker switch (latched) which keeps an earth on this wire until switched back off. This will give you ONE wipe but the wipers dont return to park until swiched off. Which when switched "off" gives you one more wipe then park position.

hope this helps all you people like me who get fustrated when we must switch the knob on and off just to wipe 20 spots of rain in your vision...

if anyone requires help on wiring any in just ShoUt, also i fitted my clifford 650 at weekend with turbo timer and headlight activation if help is needed.
