Maybe its just me... but I;m puzzled by the attraction of joining a group buy for a short shifter at £40 whan you can buy one any day of the week from 800BHP power seller on Ebay for £33 ????

At the end of the day they are all the same and are mass produced in Taiwan or one of its neighbours.

As much as we're all looking to save money where possible, i think it's bad patter that it took one of our trader to start a group buy for their products, before members started up a thread to highlight the short shifters on ebay.

Well you can delete it if you feel its not appropriate .

im not that bothered.

its a harsh commercial world out there and money is tight.

i have bought six or seven shifters(not 300ZX) from 800bhp and been well satisfied. They have been available on ebay for 5/6 years from various sellers for the 300ZX. I bought one in 2005. It was cheap as chips and is still going strong on my old car now driven by Mackam Maz.

I thought the whole point of a group buy was to get a better deal and save money.

bought mine from 2fast2cool for not much more than £20 also had i hicas bar for £30 and a rear strut brace for £5 (not sure if it will actually do any good) i was a little supprised too

Yep i think my original one was from 2fast 2cool.

the same situation arose when Japspeed attempted a group buy on exhausts... A member pointed out that the system was about £20 cheaper on a single buy from 2fast 2cool.

i had no idea they where that cheap on ebay. ive never looked.

Always check Ebay before you buy anything.

Now there is a lot of sh*t on ebay but when you see a power seller with a shop and a feedback of thousands then its usually pretty safe to say that they are an honest and reliable seller.

More to the point this forum is here to help people and save them money, if we can find stuff out there cheaper than what people know about then we should always post it.

As harsh as it may sound we are here to help each other not keep the traders alive. (I dont mean we shouldnt support them but we shouldnt shy away from posting up better deals than they are offering)

A very good point i think. I have posted before about people selling stuff with cheaper options elsewhere which isnt always met with good graces however if there is a way to save money without cutting on quality then good on the people for posting just that.
