I am looking to buy a 300zx, have £700 currently saved up so far.

Looking for a white, yellow or black one.

 

I love this car, just sold me pimped out Pug 406 for one of these!

Tell me about it, I bought it in Strood, Kent... Got halfway up the motorway and it decided to smoke and overheat... £1500 I paid.

 

Luckily the guy came and gave my money back, picked her up and said he's going to put her straight in the garage, see what it is.

 

The rad was freezing although the temp was boiling and lump was cooking.

No water in the rad at all!, not sure what is was, AA man said cam belt was fine.

Guy said if he can fix it and I said if he can proive with receipts that the work is done properly, I'll still have it.

 

Hmmmm, i think i'd be tending towards saving up a bit more and getting a known good example.

Ask CraigTT how long he waited before he found his silver one.

That looks nice mate, you look to have quite a tidy one there, in so far as lots of the little niggly commen things on the outside that go wrong seem ok like the trim round the windscreen, the door window trim looks clean, so does the scuttle panel.

 

Was this the one which decided to blow up on the way home last time? And did you only spend your £1500?

 

I also only paid £1500 for mine and have used it as a daily driver for the past year - pretty problem free..... untill recently.

 

I'm sure someone on here was selling some nice mongoose exhausts for a reasonable price recently, worth checking the for sale section.

Cheers bud and thanks, really happy and I'm going to spend some ££££ to get it serviced soon before using it.

Also want the engine bay blinged up sooner or later and some lovely alloys, but will have to photoshop and see what looks good lloll.

 

It's all standard and has had one owner and has everything pristene in the boot, lovely condition (floor mats are in the washing machine lol).

 

Managed to get it back last night (this isn't the one that died) as a guy bought it down from brummy for me, Gave him £1100 for it, checked it all over and was suprised it has no rust whatsoever, spoiler will be coming off soon, just going to look at some guides on how to do it and then will get someone to spray it and fit the perspex panel on the rear that completes the look... oh and the wiper is going.

 

This is an import fairlady and has 89,000 on the clock with a hks type-0 timer in, no other mods and has been fully serviced.

 

So yeah well chuffed and classic insurance is only £150 fully comp a year so I'm laughing really.

 

I'm liking your car mate... that's the look my arse end needs lol.

Oh by the way, how do I know if it's a SWB or LWB?

Sounds like you got a bargain Ant, £1100 leaves you a bit in the bank to get the service and stuff done so happy days. If you want the smooth lip for the rear - CarMad does fibreglass replicas and his stuff fits perfect.

 

By floormats i am assuming you mean the thick shagpile ones.... nice i love em, makes me feel like i'm back in the 80s.

LWB = 2 seats in the back

SWB = No seats

Also petrol filler cap is in different place - yours is a LWB mate.

Yeah the shagpile is lovely, just smells of 'car' in the car and want it smelling of at least some sort of neutral smell.

Just been playing with photoshop on the alloy/brake caliper side of things.

 

I'm thinking either white calipers with my silver car colour with the 'nissan' on them painted in red/black; I'm thinking black looks more subtle and less tacky.

 

Or... Red with a black or white 'nissan'...

 

Any ideas???

hia mate, i have a n/a manual, needs some cosmetic work doing i.e. tatty interior, and just a general clean and tidy, needs discs and an exhaust which i have in my garage, ive bought a TT so ive lost interest in it really.

 

however, as it is i want 800, and with a mot i want 1000. ( due to the fact i may need to spend somthing on it if it fails and i'll have to spend some time on putting the discs and exhaust on.

i got a silver zed .

mine are red and then rubbed over the (nissan) with fine emery cloth to leave nissan showing in alloy . looks quite nice
