do you have fuel pressure ..as you´ve concentrated on the fuel delivery it would appear ?

it is a series 1 ptu and i have fuel if i connect my fuel pump directly to my battery so im guessing the fuel pressure should be ok?

The S1 PTU would be the first most likely culprit, very common failure item.

First you need to find out if its spark or fuel related. Test for spark by turning the engine over with spark plug plugged into coilpack and resting on top of plenum.

The Fuel pump itself is a very unlikely failure but has its own ECU/controller that can fail, connecting directly to power wont rule out fuel issues.

sounds like ptu related to me mate as stated. i have 2 spare series 1, i know one is shagged and one works. will test tomorrow for you.

You can have on loan to establish if yours is gone.

Have you cleaned all the nonnections on the CAS on the passenger side of the engine at the front, opposite side to the ptu?

Cheers John

if this stems from when i had a look at it, its not the ptu. i not only tried my spare series 1 i also tried my series 2 on the car to no effect. only way it would start was when we directly wired the fuel pump to the battery.

phil is it doing what it did before?

if so we tried

fuel level

new ecu

bypassing the fuel pump ecu

series 1 ptu

series2 ptu

checked cas and all injectors click in turn.

You didn´t mention Fuel pump relay, but I´m assuming you have fuel pressure and that fuel is reaching the engine. Injectors are clicking.....have you checked the resistance of the injectors just to be sure as mine "clicked" still when they were not working properly, should get between 10-14 ohm resistance.

you have fuel pressure and a spark at the cylinders, you´ve changed or tested the above and she´s still not starting...is that correct ?

hey gaz yeah it is doing the same thing as before im going to be working on it today so i will keep everyone updated.

p.s gaz did you get my message on djcc?

In the drivers side footwell behind panel and on the bottom is a couple of relays, 1 of them think it's Green is for the fuel circuit from the ECU feed.

This can go too..

Oh even though you have swapped ECU's, just to be certain do a diagnostic check for error codes.

i have just done a diagnostics on both ecu's and they both come up with code 55 which is all clear if i remember correctly and the car is still not running

if you need a hand im happy to lend one. i dont know much but im happy to pass spanners etc. im away for a week next week tho. only live in winton

no pressure release when opening the filler cap can be something as simple as a faulty fuel tank pressure release valve. I have this on mine and have had for a while without any negative side effects.

oh and hellraiser where you in the ringwood area yesterday my mrs said she saw a black zed

came home fordingbridge way about 3 pm ish probably was me.

phil i received your message just haven't had time to reply.
