I bought an intercooler from him paid by paypal gift so cant claim back. This was on the 17th (3 weeks ago) and no reply to my last two PM's.

 

Guess im not the only one as I didnt make this complaint.

thats the worst thing you can do, especially when it something expensive

never send anything as a gift unless it is some one you can trust.

Yep Ive kinda got into this habit of clicking gift to be a nice guy. If this goes south I'd be gutted. Not so much the mullah but hate getting ripped off.

I sent an email to his girlfriends email (which is who I paid the money to) this morning, I have yet to receive a reply but I will keep all informed. I paid for some downpipes on the 19Th august and received no word since.

Hi Craig, if a member has done a deal with another member and it goes pear shaped, then the matter, in general is between the two parties to discuss and deal with the issue, as the club cannot be held responsible, however

in this case one member hasnt been available for comment for whatever reason.

As a courtesy to enable better trading, we are here to help where we can, in this instance trying to locate said member to aid the resolve of issues for several members.

Each incident or problem is different and is dealt with accordingly in the interest of the members.

What is stopping them giving False Details tho??

True Dave, there are usually two sides to a story, however, i know if you are on the receiving end, you dont want to hear a story, you want resolve.

 

Common sense prevails, akin to comments in another thread, we are all adults and used to dealing with buying and selling in our lives, one way or another.

One of the reasons that subscribed members only are allowed to sell, is to help prevent this sort of thing happenning, but there will always be the odd one that goes south.

I can think away around that but its fookin hassel lol!!!!

 

another idea is Forum rules on the vvoc club are

 

1 must always have a pic of what you are selling

2 a price must always be given

3 your name and date must be in the pic of the item your selling.

4 nothing should be sent as a gift and the price is the price, if the seller dosnt want fees then 4% should be added on the total (down to the seller to price.

 

Any of them are broken and the thread is closed :wink:

1 and 2 pretty standard to be honest, photos can be doctored, payment is sellers choice or mutual agreement. Closing a thread doesnt resolve the sale falling through though.

 

The issue here is a seller taking monies and not delivering the goods, it doesnt matter how many rules you put in place it can still happen.

 

I think name and address made available and maybe you need to be subscribed for a certain length of time, to form some sort of track record. But again not concrete.

 

Dave, you have a lot of dealing with selling, how do you feel, in real terms in your opinion we could improve the chances of this issue not arrising.

As a trader and enthusiast every time I hear this kind if thing I see red, nothing worse than getting let down whatever the reason, but when potentially it looks intentional ( might not be ) the disapointment turns to anger.....but dont let it spoil your zed / forum experience.

 

So in line with previous occasions if you get no joy in a week or so pm me your shipping addy with details of which intercooler you need and will send you one FOC.

Only if one of the 4 rules are broken then the thread is closed befor any money has exchanged.

 

It works on the vvoc site and it is massive compaied to here so it can be done.

 

The main one is paypal and the gift option. any mention of gift thread gone. the price is the price and thats it. if you know what i mean

Just to add, unfortunately, i don't think there is much we can add to the rules that would have any substance, to stop this ever happening again.

Its not a regular occurrence and all sales are on trust, if the seller is new, then buyer beware.

 

Always open to suggestions though, to make life easier for everyone, so dont feel you are wasting your time mate. Some issues have to be discussed, before acting upon and can take time, some may be implemented quicker than others if viable.
